Hello Everyone! If you recognize the courthouse in this picture, you have probably figured out that we are in the mountains. This is the first trip I’ve made up here in about 3 months! Our poor house began to pout by letting out some stagnant water (or worse smell from our septic tank) through our upstairs shower drain. Once the culprit was discovered, it was easily remedied. I guess that was our home’s way of rebelling (ha).
We missed the fall season up here. It looks like winter now. All of our trees are bare and the wind is blowing brown crunchy leaves all over our yard. It is still beautiful though — so I’m not complaining.
I realized on this trip how much this feels like “home” to me. That is comforting, yet a bit alarming. 1) I know we could never move up here as long as our parents are alive. 2) I can’t imagine leaving our family and FRIENDS. 3) Surely the Lord wouldn’t ask us to leave our awesome church. It has taken my whole life to finally get to a church like ours. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Of course, our church is all about planting new churches … so maybe we will open a door for a new plant here in the mountains. I could NEVER go back to a church that didn’t believe the whole Word and walk in that belief. Oh, please never ask me to do that Lord.
However, I must say that the way my husband has been treated recently by people he has respected and known all of his life would make our decison to move much easier. There is no loyalty to his old community like before. That really is a positive as hurtful as it has been for him. At least he has seen people’s hearts and knows where people stand. God gave us this house in the mountains for some reason. He is orchestrating the wonderful plan He has for us. I’m quite sure.
On a different note, I have been exercising daily — even if just dropping to the floor to do crunches or doing laps up and down our stairs. I have also increased my water intake again — hallelujah! Excess weight — RELEASE and FALL OFF!
I should wrap this up now. I am on dial-up and it is all I can do to post this. I am looking forward to next week when I can visit you all! Love & hugs!!!
Let me leave you with these lyrics I’m listening to as I
type:Till on that cross, as Jesus died, the wrath of God was
satisfied. For every sin on Him was laid. Here on the death of
Christ I live.
Then bursting forth in glorious day, up from the grave He Rose
again! And as He stands in victory, since curse has lost it’s grip on
me. For I am His and He is mine. Bought with the precious blood of
Christ. No guilt in life, no fear in death this is the power of Christ in me.
From lifes first cry, to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny! No power
of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand. Till he returns
or calls me home, here in the POWER OF CHRIST I’LL STAND!
Beautiful lyrics and enjoy your time in your mountain home with your family and in the presence of the LORD.
May those moments give you and your husband and daughter peace and strength in HIM.
Blessings and love.

Oh, I love the mountains and want to go visit them again!
Anyway, now that I can finally comment again, I want to say that I have something for you over on my blog!
It's always nice to go away and recharge. I love the lyrics.
Gorgeous home! Enjoy God's creations and take it all in….
I can't sing this song while driving…..I tend to let go of the steering wheel so I can raise my hands, then there is the vision problem because I can't see through the tears. However, I haven't let all of that stop me!! That's just when my angel grabs hold until I can handle it again!
Enjoy your trip my sister!!
Deb
I'm glad you're enjoying your time in the mountains. Maybe we'll move up there too and start a church with you guys! Bobby has always said that he wants to live in the mountains and it's probably inevitable that we'll end up there one day (most likely in the NC mountains). I'm sure it was good to get away from all the mess that's been going on…
I can't believe you quoted those lyrics, I tried just yesterday to post that song "In Christ Alone" and I was typing those very lyrics and talking about what a blessing that song is! I guess great minds do think alike right? Love you
Enjoy your time in the mountains! Do you know that I have that song on my IPod…I listen to it when I run on the treadmill and it gets me moving and inspires me!
Beth, I'm so glad you're excited about your trip to the mountains. Didn't you once say it was more of a favorite for your dh? Hey, God is working big in us women. He even has given me the grace to target shoot in the desert with my dh. PTL for the weight loss/exercie determination. I'm with you on that.
Hugs,
Mary
I hope you enjoy your time at your mountain home!
