Good morning everyone! I’ve been reading God’s Word and I just had to share Psalm 139 with you! I am aware that it is reaching me in a deep place right now because of the conversation I am having with the Lord, but I pray that you will grab a nugget of this truth and that it will fall deep into a crag in your own heart and birth healing, deliverance, and peace.
(Remember, His Word is LIVING AND ACTIVE. So when you read it — something is moving and taking place in your life!)
Psalm 139:1-4
Oh Lord, You have searched me and You know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; You perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue You know it completely, O Lord.
Ahhh, my Father, my Love! Does He sound distant to you? Do you think He never hears you or that He doesn’t care? If you believe those lies, then go back and read verses 1-4 again. God is FAMILIAR with ALL of our ways! He perceives our thoughts. He knows when we sit and when we rise.
Psalm 139:7;9-10
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? … vs. 9-10 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast.
You can’t escape His presence. No matter how far you run, He is there. Hallelujah!
Psalm 139:13-16
For you created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.
Oh my friends, if you have questioned God’s love for you, read the TRUTH again. If you have any self-hatred, LAY IT DOWN in the Name of Jesus! God knit you with great care. From that moment ALL of your days were ordained and recorded.
The reason this is speaking to me so much this morning is because God has been teaching me some awesome life lessons. There are REASONS why we must obey God’s Word. I am finding out more and more that there are serious consequences to our disobedience. Ok, I know that sounds like “Duh, that is a given” but seriously, there are hidden things — attacks — that we welcome into our lives. For instance, did you know that heart attacks are sometimes (if not often) rooted in FEAR? That makes total sense to me.
I am reading through several books right now, but one is “Prayers that Rout Demons” by John Eckhardt. In his experience, he has learned that certain sicknesses and diseases have spiritual roots attached. As I sat here and looked at my family line and saw some of these issues — I can confirm that I have witnessed these sins operating in those who have been attacked around me.
Here are some examples:
Diabetes: rooted in rejection, self-hatred, inheritance, and guilt. If you deal with diabetes, this may not apply to you, but I definitely see it in a family member of mine.
Lupus: rooted in self-rejection, self-hatred, and guilt. (Again, I can see this in my family line.)
Sinus problems: ROOTED IN FEAR AND ANXIETY. I can relate to that. I didn’t have allergies until I started having panic attacks. Definitely a correlation in my life. No longer — hallelujah!
High cholesterol: rooted in anger and hostility.
High blood pressure: rooted in fear and anxiety.
Weakened immune system: rooted in a broken spirit or broken heart.
Strokes: self-rejection, self-bitterness, and self-hatred.
The list goes on and on. My purpose in sharing this is to say YET AGAIN that our sin definitely opens doors to attack in our lives. Satan doesn’t play fair, and often he will sneak in through the sins of our parents or through our wounds.
Numbers 14:18
The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; He punishes the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.
The past couple of months have provided a great lesson for me. My body had started manifesting a very HIDDEN stress in my life. I was starting to entertain a lie of the enemy though I never even confessed it with my mouth. It was only through prayer that God gave a friend of mine the KEY. She immediately heard the lie I was receiving and when she spoke it I knew it was the culprit. I immediately repented and the symptom lifted. Talk about sneaky. The enemy is crafty — he has had a lot of practice, BUT GOD IS GREATER! He revealed the lie of the enemy and set me free.
Do you feel rejected? Do you hate yourself? Do you carry anxiety and fear in your heart? God knows you. He loves you. He formed you and recorded all of your days. He has a plan for you. Satan hates you and seeks to kill, steal, and destroy you. Don’t give into satan’s plans. Repent of fear, anxiety, self-hatred, rejection, bitterness, unforgiveness, etc. There is no place in our hearts for any sin.
If you have any questions or if I can help you in any way, please let me know. I don’t have all of the answers, but I know the One who does.
Psalm 139:23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
I love you dear sis, and I appreciate the way you allow God to speak through you. Bless you for sharing this eye opening post.
did it shed any light on infertility and the root of that? just curious. that is something i definitely want to address in my life.
Well Beth the word's that were spoken over you are now coming to pass. This year will be, you being open to God useing you in way's you, yourself could'nt see yourself going.thank you for bringing is word to life and for living the word in your family.openess is all God ask's of us.you are now seeing the start of where Father Yahweh is taking you to be strong in the truth. it's great to see God working in is children.healing comes through you by HIM. and alot more to come. Thank you for Blessing us. Be powered by JESUS CHRIST. love and blessing's in God to you and your family and your father be healed.
I'm so glad you shared this Beth. When I worked as a cardiovascular nurse, I was amazed at how often there were family conflicts associated with the timing of heart attacks. Even my own dad suffered his first heart attack when he was in the midst of tremendous stress and anxiety.
I see this in myself too. Physical symptoms are often the manifestation of what's going on in our hearts and minds.
However, I don't believe we should blame the enemy for all of our symptoms. I've also seen people make poor lifestyle choices and overeat and get no exercise and think they are being attacked. We need to use common sense (and I know you do so this isn't for you).
I love the Scripture reminders. How true and timely for me.
Love you,
Debbie
I read Psalm 139 just the other day and it's POWERFUL! Thank you for breaking it down more clearly for us, Beth! You always teach us so much about God's word!
Amen Sistah!! I'm battling in the spiritual realm over my Daughter's struggles…mine too. It's war and I believe we must always be on guard for those attacks. Love ya!
I love Psalm 139. There is so much truth in it. There is also a lot of truth in your words. The enemy will try whatever course he needs to derail us. Thank you for that great reminder today.
Take care my friend!
I liked studying this psalm with you. I appreciate your teachings, your heart to serve us and I really appreciate the resources you share – especially for prayer warriors.
That is some powerful stuff right there and I appreciate you sharing with us and blessing us with these scriptures.
Psalm 139 is one of my very favorites. It makes me feel so special and sometimes I forget that God had His hand in my life even before I was born. 🙂
Oh my, I suffer from sinus and high blood pressure and cholesterol, and I have panic attacks! I am filled with anxiety and fear. It has hindered me from becoming as active as I would like in our church. Money is a major problem, and i know that is where the fear comes from. Any help here?
I like your blog, by the way. I visit many times, but I think this is the first time to comment.
Good thoughts… God bless you dear friend…
Congrats on being named one of the top 100 blogs of 2009 at the internet cafe. You are so deserving sis, love you.
As I sat here and looked at my family line and saw some of these issues — I can confirm that I have witnessed these sins operating in those who have been attacked around me.
High cholesterol: rooted in anger and hostility.
High blood pressure: rooted in fear and anxiety.
These two sicknesses described here and where the root is from sprang within me such truth…
You know, now I KNOW what to pray over my loved ones that are dealing with these in their own lives..Praying for the ROOT to be broken off, DUG out COMPLETELY from their lives…
oh Beth..this was AWESOME…
