I have had some eye-opening experiences where the public is concerned. I just go through life assuming that most people try to obey the rules and live an honest life. Ha.
Once upon a time I participated in a Meme called “Not Me Monday” … so I am going to do a spin off of that today.
Not me — I didn’t notice a family of 6 standing in line at our ticket office. I also didn’t notice that they conveniently split away from the ticket office to blend in with the crowd who had already purchased tickets. :-/
Not me, I didn’t block the family from entering our picnic shelter by saying, “I’m sorry, you can only come this far if you have tickets.” The man didn’t say to me, “Oh, we are waiting for friends.”
I didn’t stand there for 5 minutes watching this family. They didn’t stand there waiting for me to walk off. I also didn’t walk back up to them and say, “You can always purchase your tickets now and your friends can purchase tickets when they arrive.”
The man and woman didn’t take their family into the parking lot to continue to stare me down until they gave up and left.
So … yay … I DID stop at least ONE family from stealing from us.
I also didn’t have a family try to come through the fence to avoid the ticket house TODAY. I also didn’t make them PAY (imagine that).
People people people!
We also didn’t have someone schedule a group in the morning the past Saturday and have all of their friends and neighbors trickle in throughout the day to say, “I’m with the cheapskate (ok, so I made up that name) party” so that they could receive the $2 off discount. Oh yeah, can we say, “CHANGE IN POLICY” next year?
Six more days. Woo hoo! We have been extremely blessed, but I sure am ready to see November 1st.
Happy Monday everyone!
🙁 Sorry you had to deal with people like that but they are everywhere. I have a story that happened to me recently that maybe I'll share later this week. Similar experience with an unsuspecting elderly couple. Sad!
That stinks! When we went to the pumpkin patch we did see some people walk out through a fence with their pumpkins. When didn't think at the time they were stealing them!
How awful!! Sorry to hear your story Beth.
I hope you are doing good and your weekend was a good one.
Blessings and hugs
It is sad that people will do things like that…Even sadder is they feel good about it. God bless and protect you always sister. Great to hear from you of course!
Ugh!!! Good for you standing your ground. Glad you time is nearing an end. You've been missed. Love ya!
It's sad that some people can live with themselves after stealing like this. I'm glad you caught them.
It's discouraging to have to deal with dishonest people. I'm glad God revealed them to you and you were able to hold them accountable…or at least make them leave! 😉
Try to stop by my blog this week…I'm having a giveaway, and it involves STARBUCKS!
Hugs…
Thank goodness you caught on to those people! Its unreal the way people tries to save a buck nowadays..like they think it doesnt matter or doesnt hurt a business! Not to mention its dishonest!!! Loved this post and the spin off you did!
Bless your heart sis, sorry people act that way.
Why is it that people seem to think it's OK to take advantage of others? Glad to see you stood your ground. Keep your chin up, my friend…the end is near! 🙂
Good for you!! I'm sorry you had these troubles. I'm trying to recall an instance in our U-pick strawberry patch that was this bad. I think the worst has been people showing up after hours or on Sunday and can't believe that we are not open. 11 hours a day, 6 days a week is ENOUGH!
