I am ready for a vacation my friends. One that won’t happen — you know, a vacation where nobody needs anything and I’m alone with worship music and great books. Ha. Oh well, I can dream for a second.
My hubby and I had such a busy Saturday. Our maze has been so blessed. Seriously, I don’t have the words. Our farm has looked like the county fair. My mother-in-law even asked, “What is the drawing card?!?!?” All we can say is “God’s favor” … He is drawing people here.
I have strangers tell me “there is such a feeling of family here” which is something others have heard in prayer over our place. God confirms things over and over. He is so good to us.
I spent several hours working one of our bounce houses yesterday (was not an easy job). The thoughts running through my head were mixed, “Lord, please bless these precious children. Protect them. Draw them to You.” On the other side, “Why haven’t their parents taught them any manors?” Each time I asked a child, “Are you ready to come out?” and I heard, “Naaaa, or NO!” it was all I could do to NOT say, “No Ma’am?” My husband and I make our daughter answer with “Ma’am or Sir” so it was running all over me yesterday.
And I won’t even talk about the people who litter on our property … that is an entirely different post.
Working with the public has given me an even greater respect for those in service jobs. Seriously — working with the public is the perfect place for those who might want to write a book. Ha.
Most of the people who walk through our gates are kind and gracious, but then there are those … Ok, you can imagine.
On a totally different note I have another praise report. A sweet friend from church asked me to pray over her husband who has had knee surgery and has dealt with a lot of pain. She and I prayed over his knee in the parking lot (not to look too strange – ha). The swelling in his knee immediately left and she said that was the first night he slept without pain. All glory to God!
I miss you all and can only imagine what has been taking place in your lives. Oh, on another good note … lookie who came to see us at the maze! :o)
I look like a giant next to her! Anyway … here is what North Carolina weather is like. When Tara visited last year (same time of year) we were in thick coats and gloves! Oh, how I long for cold weather …
I guess I should get my day started. I pray everyone has a wonderful Sunday! Just a few more weeks and I’ll be back on track.
The corn maze sounds like so much fun! So happy that God has blessed you with much success!
It will soon come where you can take a moment or two and relax! But right now, you are doing something that is awesome – giving families a chance to do something together!!
So glad God is blessing!
~Beth
Y'all have a great thing going on over there! As long as we live in this area, we'll be visiting. People are passing the word on. While on the hayride, one family said it was their first time and they were raving about it. She also liked the idea of a hayless hayride. My neighbors said they had a great time too and if people are driving 45 minutes and sitting in I-40 parking lot traffic for your farm, then y'all are doing something right and God IS blessing!
I remember last year very well! It was windy but by the time we started walking that maze, we started getting quite warm. I hate we ran out of time Friday between getting there late, it getting darker earlier and D saying he was ready for dinner. Had it been up to A, we would have stayed until y'all run us out 🙂
Bless you dear Beth. Praise the Lord for your praying for that man's knee and the Lord using you as His vessel there at that time…healing and comfort for him that night…WOW God is so good.
Love you and love hearing about your corn maze and all of the adventures during this season in your life. YOU ARE SO VERY BLESSED INDEED!
Love you,
Alleluiabelle
I love that you pray for the people visiting your maze. No wonder they are coming in droves!
I'm sure people do feel a difference in your place. Beth, you allow the Lord to work in you and through you to impact others. What they may sense as the difference is the Holy Spirit in you.
If only more Christians were able to interact with all kinds of people. Yes, sometimes it can be challenging but you may be the only Jesus they see.
Sending you hugs today,
Debbie
I know exactly what you mean my friend about needing a vacation. We took one two weeks ago & I'm ready to go back!
Praise God over the success of your business! May He continue to shower you with His blessings.
Take care my friend!
What a blessing you have had this season, I'm so happy for you & I love getting your "progress reports"!
Hugs & love,
Mimi
What awesome blessings…as God continues to bring them, may He also continue to pour Himself out from all of you onto your visitors
Great post
So glad your maze is doing well this year. hopefully, one year we will make it there to visit. So jealous that you and tara got to hang out again. Miss you both.
We raised our boys to say sir and ma'am, too. I cannot stand it when a young person calls me honey, sweetie, or darlin'…or when they call my hubby buddy.Excuse me???
Hubby teases me and says I'm showing my age, but I have always felt this way. I was raised to have respect for my elders. It bothers me when I see such disrespect in this day and time.
I'm glad your corn maze is doing so well! I'm with you…I'm looking forward to cooler weather!
Hugs…
Hope you are able to take a vacation soon. I've been to one corn maze, but I would visit yours if it were closer to Michigan.
Great to hear from you sister. Glory be to God for all of His provisions! And wow! How neat that He gifted you with healing!!
Take care and God bless you always and protect you and your family. Love to you…
Love your pictures! I 'tagged' you over at my blog today to answer some fun questions..hope you'll participate!! Have a great day!
I love to hear how God is using your Corn Maze to bless others. I am sorry about those who come and show no respect. I guess there are always a few. That is so exciting about the healing! You keep stepping out girl! There is so much more for you!
Beth it is so nice to hear that your farm is doing so well..
I know what you mean about manors..
Kids these days dont even know what the word means. let alone be taught any of them..
but it is up to us,, wither they are ours or not..to make them respond to us with manors.. it may be the only time they are asked to use them.. isnt it sad.. my kids (almost grown now) uses them and my grand daughters are required to use them.. and if more of us require it,, maybe it will catch on again.. (chances are it wont) but in our little corner of the
world, it is expected…
Great post..
God Bless
Praise God for blessing your maze this year sis, love you.
It's always so good to hear what's going on in your part of the world. Still busy as a bee, I see, but blessed ten times over! We miss you, too, sweet friend!
So thankful you're having a blessed Corn Maze season, yay!!! What a great time!!! Miss and love you!
Hi Beth, I'm a new blogger as of October 2010. I think your blog title is wonderful, you put into words what I feel in my heart.
My husband, son, & I live in California, so it's interesting to see what's going on in North Carolina.
I look forward to revisiting your blog.
God Bless you & your family,
Michele Katherine
