Philippians 3:12
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
This morning, I felt I should read in Philippians. This scripture really stood out to me.
Just last weekend, a precious lady saw me jumping over hurdles — then jumping up on a stage where the enemy couldn’t locate me. Jumping over hurdles — overcoming — pressing on!
How do we press on? What are we to take hold of in Christ? What do you think?
This morning, as soon as I got up to spend time with the Lord the accuser was in my ear, “You failed at fasting yesterday. You broke your fast early.” Then I immediately saw a scene from about 6 years ago when I was praying over someone. WHAT!?!?! Devil, shut up. Seriously, I had to intentionally stop viewing that scene. I had to intentionally not focus on my failure yesterday.
Philippians 3:13b-14
But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
I know that I will be walking in places I’ve never been before. I am in new waters now and there is no reason to look back. No reason to view the past. It is BEHIND me. Even yesterday is BEHIND ME.
I can see myself pressing into something with my shoulder. Pushing back the unknown that would try to hinder me.
Philippians 3:20
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
Ponder these scriptures in your heart today and PRESS ON family! Press on!
Amen sis, pressing on with you.
Thanks for sharing…needed the reminder to "…intentionally stop viewing my failure…"! Satan does love to run that video in our heads…thanks for the reminder to shut him up!!! ~Sue Ellen
I had to intentionally not focus on my failure yesterday.
amen amen amen That is exactly what I was doing on Tuesday.
God used you in a mighty way…this post inspired mine today. Thank you Beth for allowing God to speak through you. I love you!
So true! Taking authority with you, Beth, over thoughts and memories. I'm encouraged.
With all this "hoopla" going on about Immigration bill signed in AZ, I'm just thankful that in spiritual reality, we are not meant to be here! 🙂 Thank God, because of Him, we are retiring to the best place. "Not of this world!" 🙂 Blessings to you sister! Thank you for this wonderful reminder you shared with us.
God's Blessings to you and to your family…Thanks for sharing this post. This is a very good reminder for me that I have go on and let the past go.and continue walk with HIM…
On those days when I just beat myself up, I have to force myself to think positive and to think on what really does matter in this world. The stuff I worry over and get upset with myself over is useless.
Philippians 3:20 is so encouraging! This world is NOT our HOME. I so look forward to my real HOME.
Good for you Beth! Don't you just absolutely LOVE how our Creator directs our paths to the exact Scripture we need at exactly the right time? What an awesome confirmation.
Keep on keeping on my friend!
Blessings
