These are pictures from her first lesson. She did GREAT! The next lesson is this afternoon. In the picture below, she is the little girl sitting on the side of the pool.
Here she is climbing out of the pool. So tiny and cute.
I have joined a public pool. Oh my! I have had to get over my bathing suit in public shyness.
When I was 13, my parents had an in-ground pool built. I had free access to water anytime I wanted. The past few years my parents weren’t able to care for the pool and now it is closed – indefinitely. Of course our daughter is at the age where she would really enjoy playing in a pool … so I had to bite the bullet and join somewhere.
I’m really glad we joined this pool! So far we have been 3 times and will probably be going again today. I really like the fact that there are a lot of Moms there with little kids. The perfect place for us on the week days. (They also allow floats, tubes, noodles, etc … yay!)
I visited this pool with some friends when I was a preteen. Some of the locals who grew up at this pool want me to take some pictures today (and post on facebook) so they can reminisce. You might see some pics at some point.
I hope you’re enjoying the summer too!
What a wonderful way to spend your hot summer days…pool side!! Princess looks so cute and cool!!
Go Princess Go,she is so precious.
Water is def. needed to be outside very long! She is adorable! I think I want to sign Andrew up for swimming lessons maybe when he's 3. I just wish I could find a time that Dwight could do them with him instead of me. I'm not a huge fan of the water nor walking around in just a bathing suit. We do what we have to do though!
She's so cute. Looked like she had so much fun! [I could picture you walking at the side following her as she swam, especially at the 9ft. mark :)….I would have been doing the same if that's my child, too.LOL.].
Not only that swimming will bring relief to that kind of temp., but I'm sure you're having a lovely time together…God bless you all and protect you!
I'm glad she's enjoying the pool and you'll probably meet some new people.
Go, Princess, go!! I'm so glad she's enjoying swimming lessons. I took our boys for three years. It was amazing how quickly they progressed. They are excellent swimmers. Those lessons really paid off…one of the best decisions Bill and I ever made!
I'm sure you look great in your swimsuit! That pool looks soooo nice. Wish our public pool was like that. I'd be there every day, flubber and all! 😉
Looking forward to more pics.
awww shes adorable! We live in an apartment complex that has a pool i hate being in my swim suit in front of others but my son has fun as do i so I suck it up (literally haha)
The photos are lovely and your Princess is so cute!
Enjoy your day.
Hugs.
That would make me a little nervous to watch also! I loved that she winked at you when she passed by!
Oh, what a brave little girl going into that deep 9 ft. end! I know I can't be prouder then you…but I'm smiling big for her accomplishment!
I think playing in a pool would be so good, especially since it is so hot in NC right now!!
She is so cute! Looks real confident too!

Very cute pics Beth and let me just say I am so thrilled that you are taking lessons. As a former lifeguard and swim instructor, I can't stress the importance enough. It looks like she is a natural and loves the water. So glad you joined a pool too!
We have an indoor pool at the apartment and I can't wait to take Benjamin for his first swim!
Blessings to you!
Trudy
She is so cute! I'm glad that she enjoys swimming.
We go to a public pool here and we love it. It's so cheap… only $4 pp for the whole day.
Your daughter is adorable. I remember vividly visiting the public pool when I was a kid. I'm sure they have changed a lot. No noodles in those days! But we did have a high dive. That took all the courage I could muster.
She looks so cute, and it sounds like she did so well!!!! Good for her! And good for you too, mommy, for going to the public pool! That can be very intimidating!
Oh..and your post title cracked me up!
Oh my goodness! I didn't even get the chance to read the entire post, but I had to comment on that tiny princess in 9 feet! I was scrolling and saw her. Wonderful … and scary. 🙂 Can you tell I'm a momma too? So cool she's learning to swim.
This takes me back to when I was a kid and my mom got us lessons and membership at the local pool. I loved it and to this day still love to swim. That's a wonderful gift for her.
