Well my friends, I’ve been bursting to share this in a “Not Me Monday” Meme, but since we’ve been holding off in respect for MckMama and Stellan — I’ll just share in a regular ol’ boring post.
Last weekend my little family headed off to the mountains. My Boaz lined up in the Chick-fil-a drive-thru so that we could eat lunch on the way. As we were waiting in line, my husband suddenly jumped out of the truck and walked behind us.
Ok, let me stop the story to share what I mean by TRUCK.
Our truck isn’t this color, but you get the idea. We also have a big brush guard on the front and a huge trailer hitch sticking out of the back bumper. Do you get the picture? This is a big ol’ honkin’ farm truck that we use to haul cattle. BIGGGG truck, ok?
Back to the story.
Of course I had to turn around to see what my man was doing since the cars were pulling off and leaving us sitting in the drive-thru!
He was talking to a state trooper who had pulled behind us.
My Boaz loves to shake the hands of all men in uniform — thanking them for what they do. (I know, awwww, he is sweet.)
Boaz jumped back in the truck since we were blocking a line full of hungry people and SUDDENLY PUT THE TRUCK IN WHAT HE THOUGHT WAS FIRST GEAR! Yep, you’ve guessed it. FIRST AND REVERSE are right beside one another on our stick shift. He just about rammed the nice little trooper! LOL He slammed on brakes just in time.
Can you imagine going to court for ramming an officer? Whew — that one could have been embarrassing. My Boaz was so shaken up he couldn’t eat.
Of course, being the sweet, supportive wife that I am — I giggled the rest of the weekend.
Hi,
I have recently become a ‘fan’ of yours…to see what that means…please stop by my site. I have a surprise waiting there for you.
Blessings,
Alleluiabelle
Too funny Beth. Did you eat his food since he couldn’t eat? Lol.
Thanks for making me smile, lol
Oh my!!! That would have been a great way to start your weekend trip! 🙂
You sound like the same kind of supportive wife that I am to my hubby! LOL That story is too funny.
:o)
HILARIOUS!!! You need to start taking a video camera with you so that you can win $$$$ on America’s Funniest Videos. Poor D! I would have laughed all weekend too!
Oh sweet sis .. too cute! By the way…I’m such a ‘fan’! Come see what that means!
Love ya bunches!
Very funny stuff Beth! I would have been busting a gut also. So did you get to eat his Chick fil A?
I have never had a Chick Fill A, but I heard its a wonderful company.
You are so funny! Did you eat his food too? LOL…
I would have done the same thing that you did. Laughed all weekend when it popped into my mind. My hubby did something like that but it wasn’t a statetrooper. I still laugh about it when it comes to mind. Thanks for the smiles!
Oh wow, that sounds like something I would do (except for the fact that I would’ve ran over top of him before I realized what I had done).
And yes, my wife would’ve laughed, too.
But from strictly a common redneck guy’s standpoint, his truck sounds AWESOME.
The UNC Win was so wonderful! It is indeed! 🙂
Hahahaha! At least he made friends with the officer first!
I come from a long line of police officers (although I’m not one) so tell your hubby how sweet he is to do this. My dad was an ex-cop (among other jobs) and he would have loved it!
Oh, wow! My mouth dropped when I read that he accidentally put it in reverse. Glad to know he caught it in time. My heart would have been beating out of my chest. Ugh!
Oooooohhh my!What a riot! I probably would have laughed hysterically too.
That was so FUNNY! I tried to leave a comment earlier, but my computer was not willing. So, I hope you get this one.
I think you really are married to Boaz. My husband would be honored to shake his hand. I am married to a NC officer! My husband will enjoy reading this post today. God bless you both!
Many blessings,
Bren
That is too funny. Sweet man about thanking men in uniforms.
Oh my! I’m dyin’ laughin’!!! TOO funny!
lol, that’s a big WHEW! Even if it did happen, I am sure the trooper would’ve been nice about it since your Boaz was friendly to him right before. A headache was avoided though, PTL 😉
That is funny…praise God that it all turned out ok…..
That is funny! I wouldn’t have been able to drive after that.
Oh.My. I would have been shaken up too. Not only for almost hitting someone, but because that “someone” was a police officer!
Back in my single days, I had a big ol’ honkin’ truck too. I called it my man magnet because it turned all the guys’ heads. Turns out I didn’t need to attract a man; God did that for me!
OMG…that is too funny! Can you imagine slamming into the trooper in reverse…no less! I would have been just as supportive as you were…hehehe!
