I am joining Beth at The Power of Your Love to memorize God’s Word. Last week, we were to memorize the following verse:
John 8:12
When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (NIV)
I could say so much about this scripture because I know what is like to walk in worldly ways. Even after asking Jesus to come into my heart at age 11, I went down dark, ugly, stinky paths many times.
I think that is why Jesus said whoever FOLLOWS Him will have the light of life and not walk in darkness. Obviously Jesus won’t lead us INTO darkness. There have been times when I have chosen NOT to follow Him (in my ignorance and rebellion). Now He is my LORD and I can’t imagine a day of my life without Him.
The new verse for this week is:
Exodus 20:8
Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. (NIV)
On a different note, a heart wrenching note, I have very sad news about precious Kayleigh. For those who have been following her story and praying for her, she has left this earth and is now with Jesus. Please pray her parents and family through this incredibly difficult time in their lives. To read more, click on the button below.
May the beloved angels bring peace, comfort and understanding to Kayleigh’s parents and family. It is never easy for any of us who are left behind to grasp the good Lord’s plan.
Angel Blessings
