This is the day I link with Amy at Signs, Miracles, and Wonders to share a song that speaks to my heart.
There were quite a few songs that really wooed me, but I felt like I was supposed to share Stained Glass Masquerade by Casting Crowns. I really identified with this song about 3 years ago when I left my church family behind. I felt practically destroyed — so many people did, yet the majority wore their smiles and continued with life as usual. I feel like this song is going to touch someone today. (Feel free to pause my playlist at the bottom of my blog.)
Deuteronomy 31:8 states, “The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

oh, oh, oh!! I have been touched over and over by this song, it makes me think of my ex, and how he has probably felt… it helps me pray for him… it helps me to undrstand. thanks.
And I see on your play list you have a jason upton song!! YESTERDAY I was just thinking I need to search and see if they have any of his songs on there!!!! I really like his amazing music!!!
I will be listening to that again and again that really ministers to me. BTW– I LOVE Casting Crowns.
Thank you for sharing that one and I love your new blog space.
Such a beautiful song, Beth! Happy Saturday to you my friend. Love the new blog layout and look…just fabulous!
hi! thanks for always visiting and leaving a comment on my site 🙂 its nice to know someone out there is enjoying her time at mommy journey 😀
I never heard this one before and I’m so glad you chose it for today. The words have such meaning. The pain behind the smiles …that spoke to me. So often, people in church put on their church faces and never open up about the pain in their lives. And we are supposed to be the body of Christ, willing to put our arms around hurting people. However, I’ve found that choosing to join a small group Bible study within a church is a way to feel comfortable enough and safe enough to share my hurts. For several years now, the phrase “let’s get real” has resonated within me. Thanks Beth!
I love that song Beth!
Sorry for the pain you had to endure while leaving your church.
I often think about the lukewarm body across this country and how many simply show up. I pray that for a time such as this they are waking up but sadly it seems they are being joyfully lulled asleep!
Blessings!
In His amazing grace,
jill
I don’t think Casting Crowns hasn’t made a song that doesn’t resignate in some way with me yet!:) Wow, look at your blog-this is new!! Did you do it? I can’t wait to come back and explore some more!! Saturday Blessings to you! Amanda

Awesome Beth…I thought I had all of Casting Crown's songs but here's a new one that doesn't disappoint!
I'm so sorry you experienced this in your church breakup but you are so right, this is meant so someone today
It is a sad human dilemma! The Sunday Smiles! ALL our churches & Christians even in the blog world need to BE REAL! This is so like Casting Crown and their other songs like "If We are the Body…"
It's time to wake up & shine Jesus!
Thanks Beth! May this minister as you feel led to share for someone!
Bless you for blessing us and speaking the truth thru this song!
Beth,
I had never heard this song before, but it is powerful…and I loved it.
Thank you for sharing.

Mimi
Great pick for the week, Beth! And your blog makeover is fabulous! I’m coming down off a Chris Tomlin high from a concert last night, and not sure I have the patience to post a song today.
I’ve never heard this song, either. Very powerful! I’m hearing a lot of new songs on your blog…thanks so much for sharing them! :o)
Great song I don’t think I’ve ever heard it – or if I have I was not privileged till now to have the words along with it, thanks for sharing!
This touched my heart, bless you.
