My husband gave me a nice new camera for Christmas. I am the happy owner of a Cannon Rebel T3i. Woo hoo! Now I just need to learn how to utilize all of the features.
I thought I would walk through my house today and snap some shots of cozy areas.
I hope you enjoy~
In this photo, the antique can of salve belonged to my grandmother. She really believed in this salve and used it for EVERYTHING!
In this new year, I want to remember my heritage and I want the salve of the Lord to cover my wounds. Just as my grandmother trusted that salve to bring healing – I trust the Lord to bring healing as well.
I love this wooden goose resting up high on top of our pie safe. In this new year, I want to go to the high places and seek the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Behind the goose rests a dough board. I don’t want any unholy yeast spreading through any bread in my life. I am asking God to clean my heart.
Below is an old sampler that reads, “God Bless this Home.” I pray Father God will continue to bless my little family so that we can be a blessing to others. I pray He will give us creative ideas and different ways to be His Hands and Feet.
The three jugs below are sturdy and strong. They don’t bend or sway. They were made by a potter. I pray that my husband, daughter, and I who are also made by the Master Potter will remain strong in our faith — never bending — never compromising.
I love the color of these berries pictured below. In this new year, I want to have an even greater understanding of the blood of Jesus that was spilled for you and for me.
In this photo below, there is a tall, thin jug. It makes me think of the Living Water that never runs dry. There is a wooden bowl as well. Did you know that each of our tears are captured in a bowl? The light — ah, the Light of the Word. The crow is just one of God’s creatures. The crow enjoys the harvest and feeds from it. I want to feed from the Word of God in this new year.
Family and friends join around tables. In this new year, I want more ministry to take place around our table.
This table is in our foyer. Most people use our side door and never see this area. We each have areas in our lives that remain hidden to others, but God sees them. Oh how I want even the hidden areas of my life to be pleasing to Him.
My sister-in-law blessed me with a couple of my mother-in-law’s antique coverlets! I was thrilled!
Here is a lovely one at the foot of our bed. I love it! Thank you again Luanne!
This year, I pray God blesses our marriage bed and helps me to be a MUCH better wife.
The pieces in the dough board have a wonderful cinnamon scent. In this new year, I want to be a sweet aroma to my Lord, my family, and my friends.
I love my vintage 50’s cake tins that I ordered from Ebay and I enjoy the look of oil lamps. This year, I really want to focus on God’s Word and remind myself that it is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
I don’t want to be like the foolish virgins who weren’t prepared for the Bridegroom.
Below is an old scale that measured whatever was placed on the hook. This year, I want to measure my actions and thoughts with God’s Word. His Word is the only true scale.
Another vintage cake tin is here on my hoosier cabinet. My favorite! I am grateful for the antique pieces in our home. For many years I have taken them for granted. I repent for taking so much for granted in my life. I want to enter 2014 with a thankful heart.
I can’t help but wonder what 2014 has in store for us. I personally had some awesome spiritual growth in the beginning of 2013, but the end has been so dry. I’m ready for a fresh start! How about you?
On another note …
I am excited to join Elisa Pulliam in her challenge to capture God-moments each week in a photo. She suggested we:
Keep it simple. Keep it unique. Keep it about your life.
Capture a memory made with those you love.
Capture the ground upon which God has you walk.
Capture the lessons God is revealing to you each day.

I love the photos! I love finding those antique little treasures that spend the rest of their life in my home. Is that a candle mold in one of the photos?
