Hey friends, I shared with you a few days ago that I have joined a 30 day prayer challenge to cover our husbands entitled SHMILY (See how much I love you?). We are reading a chapter a day from Stormie Omartian’s book, “The Power of a Praying Wife.” A big thanks to Amy at Dandelion Seeds for leading this. Join us if you’re interested.
Luke 12:29-31
Do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.
Today’s prayer for our men is about FINANCES. The chapter is great and full of God’s Word about tithing, giving to the poor, and God’s provision. Even though there is a lot to share, I thought I would share the prayer at the end of the chapter so that you could cover your finances as well.
This is taken from Chapter 3, pages 57 & 58:
Lord, I commit our finances to You. Be in charge of them and use them for Your purposes. May we both be good stewards of all that You give us, and walk in total agreement as to how it is to be dispersed. I pray that we will learn to live free of burdensome debt. Where we have not been wise, bring restoration and give us guidance. Show me how I can help increase our finances and not decrease them unwisely. Help us to remember that all we have belongs to You, and to be grateful for it.
I pray that (husband’s name) will find it easy to give to You and to others as You have instructed in Your Word. Give him wisdom to handle money wisely. Help him make good decisions as to how he spends. Show him how to plan for the future. I pray that he will find the perfect balance between spending needlessly and being miserly. May he always be paid well for the work he does, and may his money not be stolen, lost, devoured, destroyed, or wasted. Multiply it so that what he makes will go a long way. I pray that he will not be anxious about finances, but will seek Your kingdom first, knowing that as he does, we will have all we need (Luke 12:31). In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Philippians 4:19
My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Proverbs 28:27
He who gives to the poor will not lack, but he who hides his eyes will have many curses.
This sounds like a nice challenge. Good luck on your journey.
Philip 4:19 is a Scripture I pray often over my household and others.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: FOR GOD LOVETH A CHEERFUL GIVER.
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
