There is just something different about people who love Jesus!
Have you ever noticed?
For those who keep up with me, you know that the “care” for my parents has been ramped up this past month due to my Mom being in rehab. During this time I have spent hours in medical facilities — first the hospital, then rehab. Trust me, I have looked into the eyes of the staff for reassurance and comfort. I look for that same Spirit of God who lives inside of me.
The believers are like a breath of fresh air and HOPE in those places.
Matthew 5:12-16You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Luke 11:34-36The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness. Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.
Do you ever look deep into someone’s eyes? I always do. I want to see what (or Who/who) is within them.
As Christians, we are to let our LIGHT shine so that others are drawn to the Lord.
Strangers should be drawn to us and notice something “different” about our lives. Not because we are striving to appear a certain way, but because they get a sense of the One we spend time with — our Lord.
Do you remember Israel Houghton and The New Breed’s song: Let the Redeemed of the Lord Say So?
Here are some of the lyrics:
Oh that the church would arise.
So that we would see with Jesus’ eyes.
We could show the world heaven.
Show what it means to be His.
To be formed in his likeness.
Show them they have a purpose.
To be salt and light in the world, in the world.
To be salt and light in the world.
To be salt and light in the world, in the world,
To be salt and light in the world.
Enjoy the song and go share your saltiness~
YES! Amen sister. That same type of thing happened to me twice last week.

So true, the eyes are the window to the soul!
The words "set apart" were floating in my mind as I was reading your post sister. Because of His awesome grace…
Praying for your mom and for you and your family as well. May the Lord's Light in you shine ever brightly. God bless.
This is amazing! I hope people see Christ in my eyes.
Love this post, Beth! Yes! That is my prayer each day that others will see something different in me—that difference being Christ!
Hoping your mom is doing okay…

We radiate….I remember one customer as I was cashing her out…'your always so happy.'..I shared that it was a choice. If I waited till my life was 'perfect' I wouldn't be a very happy perfect. Life is hard. She stated that she was feeling really down a few weeks back and had come through my check out. After leaving she told her husband.."I want what she has"…JESUS..that is Who I have…
God has definitely been using me at Walmart since I started. LOVE LOVE LOVE is the biggest and most powerful gift we give to others…and people can see that through our eyes….Yepper, shiny eyes in the darkness. This world is filled with hurting and broken people (including God's own children)….Keeping our eyes on Jesus definitely keeps our eyes SHINY!! Love ya girl..
