This morning I had to take my precious 87 year old Daddy to the oncologist. I asked God for His sweet favor to rest on us, and He answered my prayers.
God made a way for us to find the new oncology building, parking lot, the proper offices, etc. Thankfully, I had purchased a very light wheel chair to help transport my parents. It worked out wonderfully!
I watched Daddy listen to “man’s wisdom” as the doctor shared what could come next — what his future “could” hold. (Of course, I prayed the opposite because MY GOD has GOOD things for His children.) Daddy is so brave. Even at 87, his grace and dignity is amazing. He has never complained. Such a sweet man.
As you’ve read before, each time I’ve seen people in the waiting rooms — I’ve wanted to pray for them and share God’s love. How many of them were hopeless? How many of them were without Jesus?
I’m telling you, WE are His agents. WE carry God’s love to others. We are the SALT and the LIGHT.
Just smiling and saying, “Have a blessed day” changed the expressions on the faces of the people with which we came in contact. Their countenance changed and a Kingdom scent was left in the area. God is good!
We have the KINGDOM living within us. We are like secret agents that roam through this world shining the light of Christ into dark places!
Matthew 5:14-16
You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Meditate on who He is and let His Light Shine through YOU everywhere you go.
This morning I put this as my facebook status, “Keep your mind on the Lord.”

Jehovah-Rapha: The Lord Our Healer

I think we often forget that putting a smile on our faces and speaking words of blessing over people is sharing our faith, but if we do it in those places that we frequently visit those people will soon begin to inquire of the hope that is in us!! 🙂
I agree that a smile and a kind word or blessing add a sprinkle of joy to strangers we meet, when we give this to them.
Sometimes when I am driving and see a person who is hurting, I bless them, and I know Jesus hears.
Amen! Amen!! I always love your posts ~ so encouraging and inspiring!! Fires me up to leave a "Kingdom scent" wherever I go!!
Keep up the great work, Beth! You are making a HUGE difference!!
In Him,
Cindy 🙂
Amen! I love those words: "Kingdom scent"…It surely does make a difference in stinky, dark, worldly places. Glory to God!
May the Lord sustain your parents with His strength, healing, comfort and protection. That's awesome that you were there for your dad.
Thank you for reminding us with those Scriptures! God bless sister and be strong in the Lord's mighty power. Love to you.
Praise the Lord for you shining in the midst of uncertainty and pain. What a great reminder that we are to be salty and shine for Him. Love ya!
I was just talking about this with a friend earlier today. We are the salt of the earth. Thank you for that reminder today. Sending prayers up for your sweet daddy!
So true…being His light and salt wherever we go. It is as simple as a smile and God bless you! I love your heart Beth!
Hugs,
Mimi
What a lovely post, it brought tears to my eyes. It reminded me of my dad who passed away a few years ago, he was 84 and absolutely precious. I will be praying for your mom and dad! I am sure you are such a blessing to them. Thank you for sharing your heart!
Praying GOD will be with each of you every step of the way. Smiles and encouragement brighten our paths.

Oh, Beth I'm so sorry I haven't been by in so long.
I'm glad to see you're still losing weight. Sorry to hear that your sweet daddy has cancer. It was such a blessing for you to be able to be with him and bless others in the waiting room at the oncologist.
Hope Princess is doing well and you and your hubs too.
Take care,
Nannette
