It just doesn’t get much better than this! Sitting on the front porch reading my Bible while the world is still asleep. Ahhhhhh. Heaven on earth for me.
Can you tell I was sitting in the midst of a cloud? I couldn’t see past our fence because the fog was so heavy and thick.
Sitting there made me begin to ponder about secret, hidden things. You can expand my pictures by clicking on them and you may need to look really hard to see this whispy spider web holding droplets of water. It quietly blew in the breeze, in its own secret place and didn’t draw my attention until the sunlight reflected in the drops of water. It was HIDDEN until the LIGHT revealed it to me.
I was interested in this secret web over my head. Isn’t it just our nature to want to discover things?
“I’ve got a secret” was a phrase that most of us heard from a taunting child in preschool. It was up to us to find out that treasured secret.
Psalm 25:14
The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant. NKJV
Wow, look at that same verse in the Amplified version!
Psalm 25:14
The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning.
Doesn’t that sound enticing? It is for someone who is hungering for more and more of the Lord’s character, presence, and wisdom.
Just as the spider web was secretly hanging above me this morning, I’m sure there are hidden truths right at our fingertips. We may not see them without discernment. It takes revelation (God shining His Light) on something for us to SEE and understand.
Proverbs 2:3-5
Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
If you seek her as silver,
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Then you will understand the fear of the LORD,
And find the knowledge of God.
I don’t know about you, but I want to have holy knowledge. I want to know the secret things.
We serve the same God that we read about in the Bible He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8)!
He still saves, heals, delivers, and reveals.
Daniel 2:19
Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
Whether God chooses to reveal things to me in dreams, visions, whispers, His Word, or ALL of these — I want to know.
These cows were hidden in the fog. I could hear them munching but couldn’t see them until the fog began to lift. How many other things are right in front of me? Just through the fog?
Seeking God and His Will with you today! He has a secret …
Just opened this from Marsha Burns:
SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns — 5/13/11:
I delight in those whose hearts are hungry for more, and to you I will reveal the secrets of the kingdom. Your pursuit will bring great reward, for I will draw near to those who come near to Me, says the Lord. I will speak to you who have ears to hear and open hearts to receive all that I have. So, I say, pursue; come to Me. Seek Me with all of your heart, and I will be found by you. It is My great pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Luke 12:32 Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Your posts always open my eyes to so many things, Beth…I just love how you make every lesson so visual. Your porch definitely looks like MY kind of place to delve deep into God's word. Hope you have a terrific weekend!
Beautiful!Thanks for sharing!
I love this. Reminds me of this scripture in Proverbs 25:2
"It is the glory of God to conceal a matter;
to search out a matter is the glory of kings."
I want to search it out, like hidden treasure!
Wonderful post….so glad that I stopped by
Glad to find another worshiper, seeking the Presence of God! Your post reminds me of one I wrote awhile ago on my blog, "Secrets from the Raspberry Patch" about the best fruits always hiding underneath, where we have to bend and reach to find them. I'll enjoy reading and sharing. May God continue to allow us to find His secrets!
