I decided to do some research on some of the “healthy” foods that I choose when I’m in a hurry during the week. NO WONDER I’M STUCK AND NOT LOSING WEIGHT!!!!
When I’m on the road and need lunch, I often get a Chick-fil-a Chargrilled Chicken Garden Salad:
Calories: 105 Calories from fat: 50
Total fat grams: 6
Saturated fat: 3.5 g
Sodium: 860 mg!
How about the Chick-fil-a chicken salad sandwich?
Calories: 350 Calories from fat: 135
Total fat grams: 15
Saturated fat: 3 g
Sodium: 880 mg
I also like the Wendy’s Southwest Taco Salad:
Calories 440 Calories from fat: 198
Total fat grams: 22
Saturated fat: 12 g
Sodium: 1100 mg
I could cry! So, I need another “on the run” alternative. I am still in shock by what I’ve been eating several times a week. The sodium alone is enough to hold onto the water I’ve been ingesting.
I just ate a Wendy’s Taco salad for lunch. I just ate 22 grams of fat!!! Look at the mg of sodium floating through my body. Sigh!
Ok, I know this isn’t such a big deal to some of you, but I am participating in a Christmas Crunch challenge and I couldn’t figure out why my weight isn’t going down. I’ve increased my exercise and my water intake and nothing is moving! Well, there you have it.
So — off to the grocery store for me.
Good Luck…my best idea is to go to Dotties Weight Loss Zone (www.dwlz.com) you can click on anything under the sun and gives you alternatives too!!!
I'll be praying that you find something that fits with your lifestyle (mine is oreos and snickers right now..uhhh)
I completely understand Beth! Sodium intake has been one of my biggest hurdles on my weight loss and healthy eating journey!
Check back with me at my blog in a few days. I'm going to do post on my two month mark and updates so far. Yay!
~Many Blessings, ~Melissa 🙂
A best way of loosing weight as per experts's instructions is eating sea food and salad besides the breakfast. No supper.
Have a great week!

Praying for you sweetie.
I have been praying for the willingness for God to remove my compulsion to overeat and the willingness to make wise choices.
I have seen a breakthrough in my attitude this week- although the weight isn't moving.
When we get in our cars to run our errands/go to work, etc. and we will be gone during mealtime, I know I am leaving things to chance.
In fact, to be honest I have used these mealtimes away from home to treat myself, even when I am picking meals just like you mentioned.
So-
I would be better off packing a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread and an apple-
and I even read on one blog a while back that the blogger takes 'eat at stoplight' salads.
You have your answer-
now it is finding new ideas.
Laura
Lots of foods are deceiving like salads, but if we really start checking out the labels, it helps a lot! The dressing adds so much calories and fat. And sodium, too like what you said. I try not to eat a heavy meal and I try not to eat past 6pm. It makes my tummy not to have that much contents to be metabolized when I'm about to just sleep. I lost weight and I haven't even exercised as much the way I used to. I feel for you sister. It's not easy. But I can easily speak for me since I'm 80!!! 🙂 Blessings.
Ok, Beth. You 're absolutely right. I am still laughing.I wanted to say
#1 breakfast (no eggs and bacon)
#2 sea food for lunch
#3 a yogurt with fruit for supper.

Please disregard my previous, comment.
Thank you.
I struggle with the same issues. It is tough.

Yeppers, I found that when I eat out less, I lose more weight. No surprise based on your research. I loved the pictures you posted of the family in the post below!!
I know, it's so frustrating to find out that something you think is "healthy" is the total opposite!
eating at fast food places is pretty much bad no matter what you order. You're best bet is Subway. the lean meats and veggies are actually healthy for you. Just get the six inch and not the footlong cuz babe that bread has a lot of CARBS.
xoxoxoxo
is it not amazing when we put numbers to it!
Knowledge is everything, now my blog friend you will lose those pounds!
and i suggest packing one or keeping something in the car to snack on until you arrive home to eat your healthier choices 🙂
Hey there,
I was told a long time ago, when you 'get stuck' at a weight, something has to change. Have you tried weights? Just a few hand ones. I know you have them and you can do some lunges, etc.
The idea is you have to change 'something'. I'm trying to figure out quick stuff…..I know Taco Bell's pinto's and cheese. Also, the subway thing can work well too!
Love you,
Kathy S.
I really should join you in this weight loss thing! It is frightening when we count up what we eat!
Love Collette xxxx
I feel you.. last year I lost over 30 pounds of weight, What helped me was exercise and trying not to be caught out.
If you are going on a trip or errands, its best to make and take your food with you. Really, we never know what is in food nowadays and most of the package is full of lies or things we don't necessary understand.
Always have fruit in your bag or car and a bottle of water, that will hold you until you get home to eat properly or make your sandwich and take a handful of nuts for example to fill you up until you are at home to eat properly. Take away food always has hidden stuff – salt, chemicals, fat.. the list is endless…
You can do it.. remain positive much love x
When I know I'll be out during lunch and need something quick, I make a lunch that morning before leaving… usually a sandwich, carrot sticks, apple, maybe a homemade cookie or two, but it's always healthy and filling. And while the calories may come close to 400, the amount of fat (depending on the type of sandwich) is considerably lower than a lot of those dressings they give you.
Plus, it saves me money! 🙂
Good luck on your journey!
I'm stuck..the last 30 lbs to be released and I'm stuck…I've lost the determination. The courage to follow through, the mind set to persevere….It's time to pick myself up and get going…
I do weight watchers so I love knowing the calories on foods so I can figure the points. I am always eager to find foods that I can buy when I am out and STARVING.
Goodness I can only imagine what I eat and the fat, calories and sodium. Oh my. May God give you strength to eat well and may it not be about size but health. Always
Love and hugs,
Tiffany
