I awakened to hear the news that Osama Bin Laden had been killed by U.S. Forces.
I know the military must feel a bit of relief that this evil man is gone, but now what?
The first thing I thought of was another lost soul in hell.
In his last seconds on earth, I wonder if he was thanking his god for his virgins that were waiting for him on the other side? Satan deceives people. I’m sure satan was howling with laughter when one of his most special men saw what reward really awaited him.
It is sad to me. I am not rejoicing that another soul is in eternal torment.
Psalm 9:16-17
The LORD is known by the judgment He executes;
The wicked is snared in the work of his own handsThe wicked shall be turned into hell,
And all the nations that forget God.
Matthew 13:41-43
The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
Prayer points on my heart:
- Pray against any backlash from this event.
- Pray protection over our military and our country.
- Pray for God to reach these terrorists by visions in the night – removing the veil from their eyes.
- Pray protection over schools, churches, and Christians.
- Prayer that America will not become prideful in what just happened because pride comes before a FALL.
I still remember seeing the planes hit those towers on 9/11. My Mom had just suffered a massive stroke two days prior and I was watching the news while preparing for my daily trek to the hospital. It was shocking.
So many innocent people killed.
So many lives devastated. And for what?
John 10:10
The thief [satan] does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I [Jesus] have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (Emphasis mine.)
You can tell I feel heavy about all of this. I will definitely be praying today.
Ezekiel 33:11a
Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live.
Proverbs 24:17 ~ "Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice." Although we are all feeling a sense of relief to know that an evil person has left this life, it is also hard to ignore our Christian beliefs.
I heard the news last night and I immediately thought of him in hell just like you. When I woke up this morning and saw everyonen celebrating I thought we looked a lot like the muslims celebrating in the streets when they had killed Americans on 9/11.
May we ever be reminded that while we are "happy" the enemy has been defeated, we should be saddened that another lost soul has gone to hell.
Thank you for that reminder.

Amen, amen, amen. I wrote about the same thing very early this morning.
Hey, Beth, thanks so much for coming by. It HAS been a long time.
I hope things are going good with you and yours. Things are great here.
I am so thankful O. Bin Laden is gone..I won't judge if he is hell bound or not. I must leave that issue up to my Father.
I sure am thankful, however, that he is no longer around to bring death and hurt to any of us…ever again.
Please stop by often..I've missed you.:)
love, bj
I agree that you should not celebrate someone's death. I thought that those who did looked quite barbaric and it was very hard to tell them apart from the Muslims who did the same on Sept. 11th. We should try to keep in mind the quote from Proverbs 24:17 that your first commenter cited:
"Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice."
