I am linking with Beth at the Power of Your Love to memorize God’s Word. Please join us!
Last weeks verse was:
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
It is nothing but amazing how a Christian can have a deep sense of calm when a situation would warrant fear, rage, or chaos. There have been times in my life when on the surface I felt the initial reaction of fear, but deep within I felt peace, knowing that God was with me.
I am grateful that God doesn’t give things as the world gives!
Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
God’s word is true! How many times have you experienced this in your own life? I remember when my Mom had a massive stroke back in 2001, my friends were surprised that I felt a peace about it the next morning. In the natural, things didn’t look so good, but the peace was there. God was (and still is) there. He never leaves or forsakes us. Be encouraged!
This weeks verse is:
John 1:1-2
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.

Beth what a wonderful GOD Ame. Many blessings to you and yours.
Dear Beth,
You are right; the peace of God is wonderful
Psalm 119:165
Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

Philippians 4:7 is a definite favorite of mine and has been for a long time. The other verses speak volumes, as well. Where would we be without the peace that only God can provide?
Another "vote" For Philippians 4:7 (and 6 before it!). What wonderful reminders – and yes, I have known that peace in humanly ridiculous circumstances. Great stuff!
I am so thankful for that peace that passeth all understanding! It is what has gotten me through some terrible times in my life.
We serve an awesome, good God!
((hugs))
Great post. Great illustrations and reminders of His promises.
Thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
Sherry
It's nice that by posting these powerful verses, we are reminded of the peace that comes from Christ, despite the turmoils that are going on around us. Glory to God! Have a wonderful day sister Beth. God bless.
I definitely come to peach within myself easily. It's one of my "gifts" I believe. I'm able to see a situation, process it, and make peace with it. My husband is a yang to my ying with that. He takes a long time to make peace with things, if ever.
It's no wonder how the world tries anything & everything to find that peace that only God can give. I can't even imaging going through something and not have the Lord to hold me up.
Thanks for joining in, Beth!!
I love these promises of God that we can carry close to our hearts and keep that sense of God's peace within us–even when the world around us seems to be falling apart.
Beth
Love all these verses. You can't manufacture peace. You can only get it from the Lord. And it is more than enough for our need!
Whenever I see John 1:1-2, it always reminds me of where I was when I first heard the verse. I was a teenager, singing in our youth choir. We were doing a concert called, "Celebrate Life!" That verse what part of the narrative in the concert. It's funny how verses impact your life, even when you don't realize they have!
Glad you are accepting the award, Beth. I finally added a link on that post to your blog. Sorry I had forgotten to do that yesterday.
I do enjoy that peace that passes all understanding when I have it. It is amazing.
Great verses. I learned some of them this year at Awana. I love having God's word in my heart. I need much, much more of it.
Take care
Nannette
Thank God for that peace! We serve an amazing God! Those are ver powerful verses!
So precious.
I love Phillians 4:7
The peace that passes all understanding in the natural comes from the supernatural God that we serve and love. Amen!
My Dear, Dear Friend,
What a blessing you are! It's amazing the grace and peace I have been given over many situations in this earthly world that would have otherwise rock my world upside down, if it weren't for His peace that surpasses all understanding. His grace is certainly covering my husband and I as I write this.
Thank you my friend and thank you for your friendship, love, encouragement, inspiration, support and prayers regarding my husband's health issues right now and my own that I have battled with.
I love you sister.
Peace, Blessings & Hugs,
