I can’t believe it! A friend of mine pointed out that TODAY is my weight loss anniversary. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I DIDN’T REALIZE IT ON MY OWN!!!!
A year ago today I began this journey. Boy oh boy have I been on the weight loss roller coaster, but NEVER have I lost this much and maintained for this long.
Before I married, I wanted to lose a few pounds before the big day — so I went to NutriSystem. That was the beginning of yo-yo dieting. Each time I lost weight, but I would immediately gain it back WITH SOME additional pounds. I’m sure many of you have been there and done that too.
This picture disgusted me so much that I finally did something about it!The lady in the picture with me is Lucie. She is the one who told me that Weight Watchers had a plan (at the time — not any longer) called the Core Plan. Before this time, I had REFUSED to try Weight Watchers because I was totally against counting points. The Core Plan was PERFECT for me because it was healthy eating. I can do that! So, after that meeting (where the picture was taken), I looked up this plan on the computer and immediately signed up to participate online. June 2nd was the first day on the plan.
Well, here I am a year later. I am 58 pounds lighter and am even starting to jog a little bit here and there while I’m walking. Now THAT is a miracle! I have never been a runner.
I am thrilled to say that I am finally starting to lose again now that I’m drinking plenty of water. I have around 30 more pounds to go. I can hardly wait to meet my goal.
I’m not doing this for vanity purposes. Yes, it is great that my husband feels like he “has his wife back” (though when he says that it stings a bit), but mostly — I didn’t want to wear my sin on my body for all to see. When we’re overweight, there is no denying it — no hiding it.
If you are in a similar place, be encouraged! With God, ALL things are possible!
The most wonderful thing is this: The Lord said that my weight loss in the natural was only a thimble to the baggage I have lost in the Spirit. Hallelujah!
I hope to continue to share my weight loss victory with you!
What an incredible day for you…a day that you can celebrate your healthy success, you healthy lifestyle that you can maintain because it is so REAL.
It is always good to be reminded that with God anything is possible.
My 6 pounds are such a huge relief. I am so thankful that they are gone. I am so thankful to God that he got me through the last few weeks in such a managable way.
I am happy for you, what a wonderful thing to do so you can be a happy and healthy MOMMY!
Congratulations.
~Julie

Happy Anniversary sweetie, congrats. You have come such a long way. I am very happy, and proud for you., I love you.
Beth, That is marvelous! 58 lbs. gone forever! Thank you for transparency and encouragement. Weight loss is definitely not an easy thing, but hearing success stories like yours makes it seem a little more possible. 🙂 Lana

You look beautiful honey!! Happy Weight Loss Anniversary 🙂 I am so proud of you.
Psst, your energy and fabulousness makes me forget that you’re not my age!! Truly!! :o)
I mean my physical age (22)… NOT my mental age (62) 🙂
Congratulations!!!! We just joined the Y and it has been wonderful. I have 60-70 lbs. I need to lose. Right now my short term goal is 30. I lost 30 last summer just walking at night. I need to get my butt in gear again.
Aw, I understand how that would sting, but what a victory!! 58lbs is AMAZING! That’s a 5 year old kid you got out of your body. Sorry, I use illustrations like that hah. You look amazing! And I can see that you always look beautiful no matter what weight you’re in 🙂
Congratulations on a great success! You look awesome!
You look awesome! That is amazing. Good for you. You will make those last 30 pounds, although I really don't see 30 pounds that you have to lose…

Congratulations! You look pretty in the first picture…but in the last you're pretty and FREE from the sin that enslaves the glutton. Thanks for the encouragement for us folks who wear our sin on our bodies. Hallelujah!
We press on in the Lord! Keep moving on!
Congrats, Beth! You look great and I know from experience that you must feel fantastic, too. Don't you love the extra energy and ability that comes with the weight loss?
I love you too my friend, and thank you!
I'm glad people like variety because I just can't seem to stick to one subject. I have that problem IRL too, lol!
Congrats Beth, I'm looking forward to reading more. Like just where is 30 more pounds going to disappear from? You look great now!

Huggggssss
Girl, you don't look like you need to lose another ounce, but I know how it is. You know how you want to look and feel. Congratulations to you!
I want to wish you the BEST in the Fab by Fall challenge. Let's rock this challenge!!! 🙂
Blessings,
Dana
Wow Beth!

You look absolutely amazing!
Christy
Beth,
I know the struggle!
I click the “TickerFactory” ticker on your blog, grabbed myself a weight loss ticker and put it on my blog
Thanks

AMEN!!! Praise the Lord!! I am with you! I feel it with you! Am encouraged by you! What a wonderful testimony. Happy Fitness Journey anniversary! May you have many many more!
Lord willing on January 15th next year a similar post will be done at Taking the Gospel to Gijón! 😉
You are an inspiration!
We do need to take care of the one and only body God has given us!
Big hugs!
Wow…you've got a lot of comments today on this. This is great. It made me think of "sin on my skin"…when you said you didnt' want to wear your sin on your body. You look great and I'm sure you feel healthy. Yes, jogging, I can imagine is an exhilerating feeling knowing it was a far fetch dream back then. I understand the sting.
I really need help with eating better. After five donuts yesterday and feeling so sick by evening, I can't do that again. Granted it was one by one but the day total was ridiculous. It's hard to say no to the temptation at work. I must though. I cried out to God.
30 more pounds, you'll be a shrinking lady. 🙂 You look great but understand your desire and know we all have our different goals.
Hi, I am coming over from the Fab N Fit by Fall challenge. Congrats on your 1 year milestone of a healthier you!
Yes, with God all things are possible!
Nice to meet a fellow woman of faith.
~Rhonda~
Yeah!!! I love how encouraged (and encouraging!) you are! Well done!
God bless-
Amanda
Yup, anything for the blog. So when I told my husband that I actually took them out of the garbage so that I could take a picture for my blog, he didn't seem at all surprised…..lol!
Hey, thanks for your sweet comments! It was really HARD for me to post those pics!
I'm glad to be joining you on this journey!
Congrats on only 30 more #'s to lose! We can do it!
Great job Beth I am so proud of you. Each time I have done ww, it really worked for me too.
I think I am joining next Tues with my friend Maria…I just can't get motivated without the weigh in and the classes. I am a lifetime member.
Hey Beth,
I love this post because I can so relate to it. I have lost 25lbs so far. In need to leave about 25 more. I've been at a stand still for a few weeks, and that has me frustrated! Still on my bloggy break but thought I'd stop by and give you an award for being so awesome!
I love how transparent you are. And good for you. You are so much healthier now. You were wise to lose it slowly though. You know, I have always been about the same weight; give or take a few pounds. But as I have gone through menopause and I guess I have to say had lots of stress lately, I've gained about 20 pounds. I hate how it feels and yet I know what's outside isn't the most important. But I know when I eat properly and exericse I feel better!!! And then I stop focusing on food and any pleasure I can get from it. I never used to understand this years ago. I guess maybe when you go through circumstances you finally understand it better. Anyway, it looks like many people can identify Beth. It's an ongoing struggle for many women and …men.
Dear Beth,
Thank your for sweetly cheering me on. I am SO proud of you for what YOU have accomplished in the last year! I had already decided that this summer would be a good time to trim down, and thought it would be fun to journey with you.
