Psalm 139:9-10
If I climb upward on the rays of the morning sun
or land on the most distant shore of the sea where the sun sets,
even there Your hand would guide me
and Your right hand would hold on to me.
Isn’t it comforting to know that God guides us and holds onto us?
Actually this a timely scripture for me because last Tuesday night a lady had a prophetic word of knowledge for me. She saw musical notes floating all around me. She understood that God was singing a love song over me and that anytime I veered to the right or left, the notes would gently guide me back onto the path.
What a kind and loving Father!
The scripture above was given in the God’s Word translation, but I thought I would look at The Message to see if it gave any insight. This version added verses 7-12:
Is there anyplace I can go to avoid Your Spirit?
to be out of Your sight?
If I climb to the sky, You’re there!
If I go underground, You’re there!
If I flew on morning’s wings
to the far western horizon,
You’d find me in a minute—
You’re already there waiting!
Then I said to myself, “Oh, he even sees me in the dark!
At night I’m immersed in the light!”
It’s a fact: darkness isn’t dark to You;
night and day, darkness and light, they’re all the same to You.
I don’t want to hide from the Lord! As a matter of fact, I am asking that He shine His beautiful light into every area of my life to show me the hidden things that need healing. But IF I were to try to hide, there would be no place to go. He is everywhere … and to me that is comforting.
I no longer have an earthy daddy. Even though I haven’t been able to look towards him for protection for many years, I still could hear “I love you” and feel his touch. I can’t be downcast because I am not fatherless. My Abba Father is with me (and with you) — gently guiding me. I can also hear “I love you” and feel His touch! You can too!
Are you lonely?
God is with you.

Oh yes Beth, I am so glad that there is nowhere I can hide. I don’t want to hide from Him either. It amazes me how He is the One who initiates a relationship with each one of us. And how thankful I am that He never leaves me. A wonderful reminder.
Blessings and love,
Debbie
Dear Beth
I also don’t have an earthly father anymore, but I know that my Heavenly Pappa is always looking out for His girl and, best of all, I will one day have the joy of seeing not only my earthly father again, but also my mother who passed away when I wa three. Yes, dear one, His thoughts of concern over us are countless. Can we count all the grains of sand?
Much love
Mia
Your heart always jumps off the page through each word you write. Thank you for being so honest and transparent.
This particular quote leaped right into my heart this morning:
“But IF I were to try to hide, there would be no place to go. He is everywhere … and to me that is comforting.”
Yes!! He is everywhere and he would search the depths for me IF I tried to hide.
Oh, I love HIM!
Beth,
I love the connection you made here to your earthly father and to our earthly struggle with loneliness. (It amazes me what I learn from others during these linkups–I had never thought of these verses from that angle.) What a comfort that we can’t go *anywhere* to hide from our heavenly Father! He is always with us! May we live with greater certainty of that each day!
Thanks for linking up, Beth!
