I’m linking with The Faith Barista, Bonnie Gray to discuss small acts of faith.
Small …
Matthew 17:20
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. ”
Compared to most objects in this world, a seed is tiny! God uses the example of a seed as a measure for faith?
It just takes a little bit of faith to do BIG things? I guess so! He gave us many examples.
Think about the small steps of faith that were taken in the Bible … small steps that grew into HUGE stories that will live throughout eternity!
Noah had to make that first little step to build the ark. I’m guessing he had to cut that first tree to have the wood to start his project. Due to that small act of faith, the human race and two of each animal remained on earth.
Abram (Abraham) took that first step to leave everything he had ever known to go to a foreign land.
Hebrews 11:11 states that it was BY FAITH that Abraham and Sarah conceived a child in their old age. Does that mean they WOULDN’T have conceived if Abraham hadn’t believed? That small “seed” of believing made Abraham the father of many!
Moses was asked to remove his shoes. By faith he listened to the great I AM. From that small act of faith, the Israelites were set free from the Egyptian task masters!
Matthew (the tax collector), with a small act of faith, left his table behind and followed Jesus.
Peter walked on water when Jesus said, “Come.” Before his natural mind could reason, that small act of faith catapulted him to walk upon the water!
The list could go on and on!
Does this encourage you?
Do you see how taking one step in faith can change a life, a family, a nation, a world?
What will your small act of faith be today?

One small step at a time…. God uses them to make the extraordinary happen.
Yes, encouraging.
There’s a verse about not despising the small things because God is delighted to see the work begin. Sorry I can’t look it up right now; I have to go make coffee for my hubby to begin the day!
I love this thought. Faith grows like a seed and sinks roots into the earth to ingest the living water flowing there … and how often are mountains moved, the impossible become possible. When we lose faith we give up, and fail to see the earth shift beneath our feet, missing out on the gift that slowly grew in almost imperceptible ways. So many tangible and visible examples of this process are exhibited in the world God created and in the stories he chose to save for us. Thanks for the reminder.
I love this. It takes faith to walk with God. I’m so thankful that even “small” faith moves mountains!
Beth, I really liked the way you handled the subject of faith. You gave many solid Biblical examples how a small step of faith can make a dramatic difference in our lives as well as other.
Thank you for your visit and encouraging words.
Blessings,
Janis
A very encouraging post! And the Biblical examples you set are truly inspiring. 🙂
Thanks Irene! Thank you for coming by!
Removing his shoes.. as an act of faith. You just inspired me to just come to God as I am, intimate and transparent. Love this, Beth!
Thanks Bonnie. Bless you!
