About once a month my daughter and I make bags full of sandwiches, fruit, and desert for our friend to take to the homeless in our area. It was that time again and our daughter wanted to recruit her friend to help us.
I had the idea of having them decorate the bags with markers and write JESUS LOVES YOU! After a couple of bags, my daughter asked if she could write this:
What a simple, but profound little message written by a 7-year-old. I pray this will open the door for some seeds to be planted in some tired and wounded hearts.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:36
He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.
The plan of salvation is so precious and I’m sure much more simple than we make it sometimes. God loves us and desires for us to be in fellowship with Him. I don’t know why these people are on the streets, but God knows. Please pray that these little bags will bless the hearts of those who receive them today.
Jesus loves you.
He died on the cross for you.

What a beautiful to serve and share the gospel – prayers that this is the seed God is calling for many to receive
Oh what a blessing! I love all of the bags, and I love your daughter’s boldness to share about the sacrifice God made for love.
Isn’t it wonderful to see your own daughter’s heart of love for others? I think it’s beautiful. I love how you’ve taught her so well Beth.
Blessings and love,
Debbie
Very inspiring. I hope you don’t mind, but the H.O.P.E. group (Helping Other People Everywhere) that my wife and I lead may “steal” your idea to help the homeless in our area. Thanks!
If only grown-ups could present (and accept) the Gospel with such simple truth and honesty that children do it! What a special thing for your girls to do – I am sure He will be using you all in great ways 🙂
