Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
As Christians, I believe we are always called to walk by faith. Our understanding is not of this world and we are not a part of this world’s kingdom. Once we give our lives to Jesus, we are citizens of a heavenly Kingdom where things are fueled by faith.
FAITH
Faith is an actual substance. It is tangible in the spirit. It is the evidence … what we hold onto even though we can’t touch it in this realm or see it.
Matthew 17:20
Jesus said, “… I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Isn’t it interesting that out of ALL of the seeds on this earth Jesus could have used as a comparison, He chose a mustard seed? Look at the size of a mustard seed in the photo above. That is a tiny seed! And that is all we need to move a mountain in our lives?
Surely each of us can “muster up” (pardon the pun) that much faith. Right?
What is YOUR mountain today?
I have seen so many mountains moved over the years! The first chapter of the Book of Hebrews shares how many of the patriarchs walked by faith. I could write a litany of ways God moved situations around for me in my life as well.
Oh how I wish I had made a list just in the season of caring for my parents! I remember it was a big rush to bring my Mama home from the rehab facility. I finally had a group lined up and the MORNING Mama was supposed to go home this group backed out. I almost cried. Mama was determined she was going home! I had the transportation set up, the rehab facility had already promised Mama’s room to someone else, etc … Just in time, God provided another agency who was willing to start caring for Mama THAT DAY. The company was owned by Spirit-filled Christians.
Other things fell in line “just in time” too. I was able to co-sign a loan to pay for my parent’s care. I didn’t know ANYTHING about getting a loan, but God led me each step and gave me favor. After Mama really got weak, she decided I needed my name on her checking account. We received the new checks just before she died which made it easier for me to handle her funds to pay bills.
God takes care of His children.
So how about you? Can you list ways that God has been faithful in your life? If so, doesn’t it increase your faith to know that He will continue to be faithful?
All you need is the faith of a mustard seed. That little bit of substance is enough to have angels move on your behalf.
Matthew 9:29
Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.”
Have a blessed and faith filled Wednesday everyone!
I journal and when I look back at previous journals I am amazed at how I see God at work. I love how you see how He opened up doors for you when taking care of your parents. Nothing is impossible for Him. I too love how He compares faith to a mustard seed. Sometimes that’s all I have but it’s enough. Our God is so faithful.
Blessings and love,
Debbie
He is indeed faithful. Walking through this hard season of my husband’s unemployment has been challenging, scary at times. But God has shown Himself strong in the midst of our weakness and fear. He has provided, even when we didn’t know where provision would come from. I’m not sure what the future holds concerning my husband’s unemployment, but I rest assured in knowing who holds our future!
