Do any of you remember the first time you discovered on Facebook that you could actually talk to people that you have held in high esteem, but never met?
I was thrilled when I saw some of the authors and ministers that I admire on FB!
Well, this morning I saw a video that Bobby Binion posted on his page. Bobby is one of the DayStar singers (and comes from a family of singers). Anyway, from his page, I found MORE DayStar singers … and the Lamb family.
You don’t understand — I LOVE DayStar! I love the Lambs. I know … I don’t “know” any of them personally, but since I have watched them for years — seen their kids grow up, worshiped with them, cried with them — I feel like I know them.
I’m not a stalker …
When I was going through a bumpy time back round 2004/2005, DayStar was a life-line. Our daughter would always place her hands on the TV when the DayStar singers were worshiping. She would toddle over and just bounce with glee.
So, with this said (ha), I was thrilled to find some of the singers on FB this morning.
For those FB’ers out there — you know how we can “send a message” when we are requesting friendship? I explained to each one how I didn’t know them personally, but appreciated their hearts, ministry, etc … After requesting three of them, I found Joni Lamb (I just love her). I went through my “spill” in her “message” and hit send.
By that point, since I had 3 friend requests to strangers outstanding, it wouldn’t even send the message to Joni. Waaaaaaaaaaa & Booooo! Where is FB when I get a bunch of requests from people I don’t know???
I really am a nice person.
Please DayStar family, don’t think I’m a stalker …
I have always felt a connection to Joni (do I sound like a stalker now? lol). She and I are both tall and we share the same birthday. Ok, so I’m not a brunette, but I did have big hair for years. She is from SC and I’m from NC. See — we are practically family. (giggling)
Ok, so maybe I do sound like a stalker, but I’m not — I’m tellin’ you!
Who is someone in ministry that you would love to have a chance to talk to/get to know?
Have a super blessed Sunday everyone!!!
You are too funny!!
~Beth
Oh Beth, you are so funny! And yes, I've missed you too. I was so excited that I could be a 'friend' of Kay Arthur's on Facebook. And btw, I'm thrilled to have you as a friend on Facebook.
Love ya,
Debbie
I don't know what to think when I'm looking at that picture and "someone" is disguised! Hmmm….
Too funny! I hope your message will be able to get through somehow…Take care sister and God bless.
Oh you are too too funny! I have found some authors I admire on FB and have friended them; how fun is that?
LOL! You are a riot! 🙂
I'm not a Facebook fan at all but so hope these people ok your friend request. I'm sure they have lots of "friends" they haven't met yet. And besides, once they get to know you they will be so glad they said yes to your request!
You are such a blessing…a funny one to boot!! 🙂
Much love!
Lisa
Oh darn. I forgot to say the people I'd like to meet….
I'd have to say Karen Kingsbury because I'm her biggest fan and Sheila Walsh because her books speak to my very soul.
Much love, again!
Lisa
Since when did facebook limit the number of people you can send requests to? Hmmm… You're too funny, though.
There are just so many it's hard
to choose. I'd have to say Mahesh
Chavda, though we have talked on
the phone. I really enjoy the
ministry of Rodney Howard-Brown,
Francis Frangipane, Andrew Wommack, and I would say Andrew Murray but he has been with the Lord for many years. I saw the
Lambs on one of Rodney's recent
web meetings and the Lord really
touched them–long time on the
carpet!
Thanks for the good giggle today!
Shalom!
Sandy
Oh you make me laugh! I am not sure who I would befriend on FB if I could. There are too many.
I loved this Beth. Love the picture as well. Joyce Meyer and Beth Moore would be cool to be FB. Hee hee. Blessings to you dear one.
You really crack me up….Love it!!! Very funny!!
But you can send her a personal message and ask her to friend you. Chances are, she will.
You normally look less intimidating. 🙂
