The secret of spiritual success is a hunger that persists … It is an awful condition to be satisfied with one’s spiritual attainments … God was and is looking for hungry, thirsty people. Smith Wigglesworth, (1859-1947)
Friends, I am so excited! I will be attending a conference this weekend and the speaker is Gary Oates! Some of you may have heard of him. I discovered Gary Oates when he was interviewed by Sid Roth several years ago. I immediately ordered his book: Open My Eyes, Lord. I can say that this book stirred up such a hunger in me.
You can only imagine how excited I was when I discovered that he would be in our area! What an unexpected blessing!
Are you hungry for more of God? I guess theologically that question doesn’t make much sense, but I mean — are you willing to lay down more of your own desires and LIFE? Are you willing to sacrifice your “right” to defend yourself when wronged? Are you willing to put God first?
I have never been “satisfied” with the relationship I have with God. Since the early 90’s, I have wanted a closer walk with Him. I have cried out for more wisdom and more discernment.
The hunger of a man’s soul must be satisfied. It must be satisfied. It is a law of God; that law of God is in the depth of the Spirit. God will answer the heart that cries. God will answer the soul that asks. John G. Lake
Matthew 7:7
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
I am asking, seeking, and knocking! I am going with great expectation and I am hungry to receive! I am expecting the Lord to “answer the soul that asks” as John G. Lake stated.
Are you hungry? (See an interview with Gary & Kathi Oates HERE.)
I have never heard of him but I hope you have a great time at the conf.!
You are so fortunate to hear Gary!
Details please when you return!
Love the Wigglesworth and Lake
quotes.

Beth, sounds awesome. Enjoy!
I am so excited for you and the conference! I starve myself more than I feast. I am in a season of depriving my natural body so that my spiritual body can become whole.
Hi Beth,
I have to say I have never heard of him but I look forward to hearing all about the conference. I am sure you will have a wonderful time!
Loved your post and thought provoking words.
Have a great day.
