Yesterday on the way to intercessory prayer at church I asked the Lord for a vision or a word. I asked, but God didn’t give me anything on the way.
Once I arrived and we all started praying, I saw a flood gate made of two wooden doors. There was rushing water just waiting to be released. I understood that control and perhaps fear were holding the gates closed. The intercessors began to cry out for the people of our church to have total abandon.
Interestingly enough, when I came home from my church I watched The Church @ New Bern’s 1:30pm live stream. What were they singing? Lyrics: “Let it rain. Let it rainnnnn. Open the FLOOD GATES of heaven!” Another lady at that church also saw a flood gate and that God was asking for total surrender. I thought that was so cool that God gave two of us similar visions.
If you ask me, this is a message the Lord wants His people to hear. If you haven’t totally surrendered every area of your life to Jesus, now is the time. I can tell you that even in my own life, I have turned off the television (unless I watch Christian TV or something family friendly like Duck Dynasty). I don’t want the ways of this world to taint what I see and what I hear. It makes it much easier for my mind to be sanctified versus having unholy images flooding it. Why do we allow those images to enter our minds?
This should not be.
We cannot grow roots as we should if we are only hearing God’s Word for an hour each week. Each of us have the responsibility to dig into the Bible and spend time worshiping every day.
This little nest ties into the holding back of the flood gates. There are SO MANY hungry people who are seeking God daily. They are crying out for MORE of the Lord. MORE of His Presence. These are crying out for God to release the flood gates. But what will happen when the flood gates are opened? What does a flood do? It wrecks things. It breaks things that don’t just go with the flow of water. Right?
What will this mean for those who aren’t prepared?
God is jealous for your time. He wants your attention.
Revelation 3:20
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with Me.
That is a good word Beth. We so want other people to feed us when we need to “dig” in the word for ourselves. I can identify. Thanks for the reminder.
I’ve been asking God for rain, to open the flood gates. There is so much more that He wants to give us! We cannot come to feast at His table just for an hour each week. We must continually eat of Him and be filled. Blessings!
Awesome, I was thinking about that in my own life. I use the computer quite a bit and I realized the other day it was taking so much of my time, some of it legitimate and most of it fluff. I was told once, what you focus on you draw to your life and I want more of God so I have some changes to make. Thanks for sharing.
