God’s Word says in John that He is the Vine and we are the branches.
John 15:5
I am the Vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.
We, as believers, are CONNECTED to God as a branch is connected to a vine. I wonder why God didn’t use the example of a tree versus a vine? Is it because a vine can fit in any area? It is pliable — twisting, turning, climbing, REACHING all areas?
Without the vine, the branches don’t receive nourishment. Without God, we don’t receive the nourishment we need to LIVE eternally or become all that He has destined us to be.
In my last post I warned that we shouldn’t wait until we were in trouble to seek God. At that point you won’t have a reservoir to draw from. If you seek Him and connect with Him in the good times, then you will have more strength when the waves come and the winds blow. This is for someone out there. Do not wait until tomorrow to connect with the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
Luke 6:47-49
I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well-built. But the one who hears My words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.

Guilty! To often I wait until there is trouble and then realize I have become disconnected to my source of life and strength. Why do I do that?
