Isaiah 52:2-3Shake yourself from the dust; arise, sit [erect in a dignified place], O Jerusalem; loose yourself from the bonds of your neck, O captive Daughter of Zion. For thus says the Lord: You were sold for nothing, and you shall be redeemed without money.
Isaiah 52:5
But now what have I here, says the Lord, seeing that My people have been taken away for nothing? Those who rule over them howl [with joy], says the Lord, and My name continually is blasphemed all day long. (Amp)
The Lord was telling me to LOOSE MYSELF from the bondage! And when I read that the demons were howling with joy over my bondage, that was the LAST STRAW!
Needless to say, I started yesterday with a GRATEFUL heart! I didn’t deserve freedom, but God set me free! I didn’t deserve healing (and I have had other healings since the one I shared), but God healed me. His grace amazes me.
I think yesterday morning prepared my heart for last night.
Near the end of intercessory prayer we prayed for the college students who will be coming to our church for a conference. I began to weep for those students who are bound. There are some who run to alcohol and drugs. Others cut themselves to feel relief. My memories of the hopeless feelings that I had … the depression … the despair were still close to my heart. I was more aware of what some of those students might be experiencing.
It is so frustrating when we know the answer and know where freedom awaits those who are in bondage, but we can’t make people listen. Only God can remove the veil and soften hearts.
Isaiah 55:6-7Seek the LORD while He may be found;
call on Him while He is near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the LORD, and He will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for He will freely pardon.
I am praying for those who are hurting — those who are running to the things of this world to numb their pain (which is a lie because the numbness wears off compounding their pain). I pray that they would come to the end of themselves and finally run to God.
“Seek the Lord while He may be found” says to me that there is a time when we WON’T be able to seek Him and call on Him.
Please take a moment to pray for the college-aged generation.
I don’t care how many times I’ve seen this skit, the anointing remains! Watch this powerful witness …
Jesus is here for YOU!
I completely agree…our college students need so much prayer right now. They're constantly faced with temptations around every corner. It takes someone who is deeply grounded in their faith not to give in. Great message, Beth!
The generation growing up now in such an uncertain world certainly do need our prayers more than ever. Thank you for another inspiring post Beth. Blessings
I believe that God will give you more & more of a voice to be heard and you'll see people set free. God will use your testimony, your obedience, & your compassion, and He'll turn what the devil meant to destroy you, around for His glory. Love ya
Your post struck a real cord with me as I am in the middle of an amazing journey. If you read my blog you'll find out that I've been disabled for six years. I'm waiting on the Lord to set me free of this bondage! I'd love to put your site up on mine if I could.
