Did my title grab your attention?
What did we do this weekend?
First, we finally got a chance to spend some time with some old friends. They followed us to the mountains and to the stockyard where we sold some cows.
Then we enjoyed this lovely view the rest of the weekend. And yay — my day lilies were in full bloom.
Then we attended our first lawn mower race! Ha! These people invested a lot of money in their “rides” …
The guy in the picture below drove like a Dale Earnhardt wanna-be. He made the race interesting! He caused a bad wreck — nobody was injured — then he won!
The weather was lovely. Low humidity — temps in the high 70’s. Then we came home today to 95 degrees AND humidity. Horrible. Blech!
Here is a very short video of some racing action.
It looks like you guys had fun. We missed you this morning. We really want to come visit you guys up there, even if we don't stay at your house, we can stay with my in-laws, but we want to spend time with you all up there in the mountains! Hubby & I were thinking when we were up there last weekend that we might want to move up there and beat this heat! Love ya
Wheeee, doggies…those lawn mowers were MOVIN'!!!! Now that's the kind of riding mower Bill could use in his lawn care business…he could finish all of his mowing in half the time! 😉
Glad you had a great weekend. The temps and humidity were bad here, so I'm glad you were able to enjoy some nice weather.
Hugs,
Beth
What a fun and beautiful weekend you are having.
Princess is still as cute as ever. She looks so sweet with the calves.
What a view you guys have. WOW!!
The lawn mower races look like something I would enjoy watching.
Have a fun summer. Still waiting for sunshine here.

Andrew loved the cows and the John Deere (of course, he calls every tractor, lawn mower and construction equipment JD). I believe that is an example of being redneck and not country-fied but glad y'all had a good time:-)
Looks like you had a nice weekend. Princess is getting so big! You didn't know the mullets were back? LOL!
Your view is gorgeous Beth. I've been thinking a lot about views today and what I choose to spend my time focusing on, so I was really blessed by the picture of your view.
Your princess is darlin' – love her smile while she is petting the cows. You are blessed. And she took a great picture of you too!
What a beautiful view! And the calves were so cute! Looks like princess was having a good time with them!
Glad y'all had a great weekend!

I sure did enjoy that post! 😀 Playing with cows, perfect views (I love the sunset), low humidity and an exciting race. What fun! Your princess is beautiful and I really enjoyed all of the pictures. Now, the humidity, I can do without: It's like that here 98 percent of the time.
I gotta hand it to you Beth. You educate me about a whole different way of life, that's for sure. But I love it.
I never heard of lawn mower races! But it certainly looked like fun. Your daughter has the best smile. Her whole face lights up when you point that video or camera at her. She's beautiful and her smile is contagious.
Your country place looks so peaceful. The view; wow what can I say? A lovely fortaste of heaven, perhaps?
Hugs,
Debbie
You have the most wonderful view outside your home! What a blessing. I love the pictures of your daughter with the baby cows.
Hi Beth,
What a beautiful weekend you all had. Love your photos and the view is spectacular!!
Have a great Monday.
Blessings.
Looks like a fun time sis.
YAY! Looks like good mountain fun was had by all!
Beyond tickled that y'all went to the Lawnmower races in my old stomping grounds. We had Father's Day Saturday in GBO and it was mentioned more than once that we were missing the races at the Fairgrounds. A few of the faces in the crowd look familiar, and I have a cousin that raced this weekend.
Thanks for the photo trip up the mountain! If this heat doesn't break, I'll be ready to head up there sooner than later.
Ha! Those mowers are too funny! I would have laughed the whole time.
Glad that y'all got to enjoy some fun time with friends. Your view from your mountain home is so pretty!
