When the promise of our future is greater than the pain of our past, we will break free! – Ron Lewis
We have that promise folks!
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Do you believe it?
Do I believe it? Yes, I do!
I am writing this on the heels of trying to get back on track with a healthy life style. My pastor said that WHEN the promise of our future is GREATER than the pain of our past — we will BREAK free! Hmmmm. How does this apply to my relationship with food? I have realized more than ever since the pressure has increased with the situation with my parents that I have medicated with food. Somehow my childhood is tied into my relationship with food as well. It was a way of soothing or numbing pain. Can any of you relate?
Pastor Ron said, “We WILL break free!”
I need to ponder Pastor Ron’s statement a little longer. What part of my past still holds onto me? Or perhaps I AM THE ONE holding on to it …
God has plans for us! He plans to give us a HOPE and a FUTURE in every area of our lives!
I am linking with The Internet Cafe to share God’s Word with a photo. I just took this photo today on our farm.

This verse has been one of encouragement for me for many years. My mom always gave it to me when I felt a little lost. The picture is beautiful.
I’m right there with ya! I’m definitely medicating my stress with food. It’s an idol/alter that needs to be torn down in Jesus name! I’ve heard from you and a few other people to listen to Pastor Ron’s message from last Sunday. I’m going to do that today. Love ya
Hey there,
This is a recurring theme on my blog! When we CHOOSE the joy that Jesus promises, we finally are headed in the right direction. We need to see the promise to move forward.
Praying for all those who need their eyes opened to HIS love. And for strength to make the change.
God bless you in your journey.
Love,
Karen
Great verse and words of wisdom from your pastor.
