I can’t believe it is already Friday! My first week of freedom from the corn maze is almost over!
Today I’m joining the Gypsy Mama and participating in 5 Minute Friday. The rules are to write for 5 minutes with no critiquing or editing. She provides the topic and we write.
Today’s topic: Remember
Start: 9:00am
The first thing that came to my mind is “Remember the Lord and forget not all His benefits.” I may have totally messed up that scripture, but that is what came to my thoughts.
I love to remember what He has done for me — things I haven’t deserved, but He did them anyway!
I remember the first time I felt His Presence. I was at a conference at a Spirit-filled church and had gone up to receive prayer. I was really hoping to receive my prayer language (that was my goal). The one praying for us barely touched me and back I went. Yes, I fell backwards to the floor. YES, THAT REALLY DOES HAPPEN. It was an awesome experience. I remember lying there, waiting for some heavenly language to come pouring out of my mouth. Sigh … it didn’t happen THEN, but I did experience that God still touches us HERE on earth!
I remember when I DID receive my prayer language. I felt hot electric oil (best way I can describe) pouring down my head!
I remember when God set me free from the bondage of FEAR. I was watching a TV evangelist who was going to pray with those of us who were struggling with fear. I heard in my own thoughts — screams, “NO! DON’T TOUCH THAT TV!” I did touch it and my heart raced! Suddenly I felt something lift off of me and for the first time ever, I remembered seeing LOVE in my eyes.
I remember when God grew out my left leg which healed my back (after YEARS of struggling with back pain).
I remember learning some of my most DIFFICULT lessons at the last Baptist church I attended.
I remember the feeling I experienced the first time I entered our current church. I felt like I had stepped in rivers of living water! I also wept because I had been inside that church in my dreams years before!
God is so good! It is always good to remember the Lord!
Stop: 9:05am
Oops, so I did mess up that scripture:
Psalm 103:2
Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits—

Beth, I am glad you are free of the corn maze 🙂 And I want to thank you for reminding me of that verse. I believe that incredible Psalm has been used by God to minister healing to so many. I thank you for remembering all of God’s benefits. Truly He alone is worthy of praise.
I linked after you on Five Minute Friday and was so blessed to read these precious memories.
I do love this: “I love to remember what He has done for me — things I haven’t deserved, but He did them anyway!” He has definitely done so much (more than “much!”) for me!
It is good to remember, is it not? Blessed by your memories, thanks.
Ha! You have 2 Carolines that have commented! That never happens. 🙂
Wow. I too dreamed for years about a big round church that ended up being my church home for over 20 years. God is good and faithful indeed. Great post!

What a beautiful blog. And I love the line “I love to remember what He has done for me — things I haven’t deserved, but He did them anyway!”
Hi Beth. Here is the information you were looking for.
You most certainly can use my “I am from” poem as a guide. http://laughtershock.blogspot.com/2009/03/my-story.html
I heard of the idea from a friend who saw a template online. I did it with a women’s group and it was very powerful. Here is one link, http://www.swva.net/fred1st/wif.htm
Here is another

Just google “I am from” poem for more help. Feel free to use mine as a direction.

Beth,
Beautiful 5 minute write-up. I liked the part about hot oil pouring on your head.
Happy weekend, friend.
enjoyed the post! when i received my prayer language i felt like i literally had a fire inside me and the only way to get it out was to speak. i talked so quickly and for so long! i was afraid to even take a deep breath lest it all go away! ( it hasn;t!)
Woo hoo! Isn’t it good to remember His Goodness? I remember the day I received my prayer language. The youth pastor I ministered with at the time prayed for me for a long time after a service. Nothing. That is, until the next morning, while I was in the shower…I got it! And it didn’t stop for the whole day!
