Just in case you’re wondering, I still really dislike Halloween. I didn’t even want to attend the celebration at our church (I’m sorry Pastor Eric … nothing personal … I just hate Halloween), but Princess had a meltdown Saturday night. Even at 5, she had the guilt/drama speech perfected, “You didn’t even let me go to the fair this year and NOW I can’t go to Fiestaaaaaaaa. Waaaa!” Sheesh! So we went to the Fiesta! Stinkin’ Halloween. Anyway, she looked absolutely adorable.

We went to WalMart on Sunday — yep, ON Halloween and bought her this costume. Then I zoomed to Target that afternoon and purchased the ruby red slippers. She made a very cute Dorothy.

Now, we can move onto November, right? Yay! October was extremely busy. I added up the numbers last night and I had around 2500 school children come through in October during the week days. No wonder I’m tired. Ok … back to November!

This morning I decided I would try to find scriptures about having a THANKFUL heart since this is the month of Thanksgiving.

I felt great conviction because I have found myself doing a LOT of grumbling and complaining.

Colossians 3:15
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

I hate to admit it, but I haven’t been flowing in peace (for the most part) during this busy season. Deep within my heart is peace, but my mouth and my thoughts … grumble, grumble, grumble. Ok, wait — that was an oxymoron statement because the Holy Spirit just reminded me of this:

Matthew 15:18
But the things that come out of a person’s
mouth come from the heart, and these defile them.

Today, I am going to make a conscious effort to be thankful for all of my blessings and not take anything for granted. I will purposefully fill my heart with God’s Word so that HIS WORD will be on my lips (not grumbling).

Happy Tuesday everyone! I’ll start visiting you next week!
