I feel convicted when I begin to whine about this season each year.
Each summer my husband and others plant our corn maze. There is a lot of physical labor involved for the men, but FOR ME — emails and phone calls bombard my space.
Colossians 3:15
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
It truly is a great way to make residual income. Agritourism is a great field (pardon the pun) to have as a career — especially when we are surrounded by suburbia. We could do this until retirement, but I don’t know that this is what God has planned for us.
We started this business because we wanted to give the local children some exposure to farm life and also help advertise our Christmas tree sells. We had no idea so many people would support our efforts and come each year. Thank you nice customers …
Thankful
Yes, I need to be thankful — even for this season that takes over our home and lives for a few months out of the year.
I am thankful that I get to see some sweet people who work with us.
I am thankful that people are prayed for during that time and many have received immediate healing.
I am thankful for God’s protection over our farm as thousands of people enter our gates.
Colossians 4:2
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
God wants us to have thankful hearts. As a mom, I can understand that even more. I want to bless our daughter when she is grateful and thankful for what she has been given.
I want to be a thankful child …
Father, as we begin our season next week, please remind me to be thankful for all things. Please forgive me for grumbling and complaining about the work involved. I pray each person who steps foot on our property would feel Your peace and Your love … in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Would each of you just take a moment and pray protection over our farm, family, employees, and guests?
Thank you!

May God bless this season for you all. May those that enter your farm be blessed for having been there. May Jesus shine through in all that you do. I cannot help but wonder what wonderful opportunities He will present to you in the days ahead.
Blessings,
Joanne
PS – You were my neighbor at The Weekend Brew 🙂
Good Morning, Beth!
Thank you for giving us a peak into your world and all the labor of love that goes behind an activity that gives others pleasure. I did a corn maze just once with my grandkids, and it really was an unforgettable experience … the SHEER JOY that it brought them energized us all!
May your weekend be blessed with some quiet moments here and there …
Thanks for sharing your inner and outer world. We all go through life struggling to have the proper attitude of gratefulness. It is so easy to slip into a negative discourse within. Thank you for sharing your desire to move toward thankfulness.
There is so much to be thankful for. Even in the midst of a busy season, He always reminds us of His provision. Have a beautiful weekend friend!
Every year when fall is approaching, I wish I lived closer to you Beth. I would love to see your corn maze! There’s a place in Scottsdale (which is near me) that is called The Simple Farm. It is a working farm in the middle of large homes in gated neighborhoods. It is owned and operated by Christian friends. Many people go to their market and volunteer to help out on the farm. It is their ministry and I love it. Just like you! Be encouraged friend.
Blessings and love,
Debbie
I wish I lived close to you, too! I love that you get to do your corn maze – to give to other people – such beautiful hospitality:) I have decided after 27 years of parenting – that these types of jobs, too, give our children a life experience that is difficult to find today, also. We are getting ready for our busy season, too – but we don’t have that one-on-one contact with people – we produce and ship:) I am thankful for what this has taught my boys, though! Wishing you delightful blessings in your sweet harvest!
I’m right there with you Beth. I want to be mindful of giving thanks in ALL things. Our posts ring true. I love when similar themes are found in the link ups. Blessings for the coming week and as you start your season of worship and work.
What a beautiful thing you are doing for your community. Bless you for your giving heart. Thank you for this reminder to have a heart of gratitude. I will keep you and your family in my prayers as you begin this season.
Visiting from Barbie’s.
Blessings to you.
