Happy Memorial Day my USA friends! I am so grateful for the men and women who sacrificed for my freedom.
As you notice by the lack of red, white, and blue — this isn’t a “Memorial Day” type of post. Instead, this post is covered with lovely Mimosa blossoms. If you haven’t had the blessing of smelling one of these sweet little blossoms, they are WONDERFUL. They also remind me of my childhood.
At 6:30am I went out to spend time with the Lord. It was so lovely I decided to find my camera. The songbirds were singing His praises as the sun began to peek above the horizon. It was so heavenly! These pictures don’t do the scene ANY justice at all. You can click on the Mimosa pictures to enlarge.
Psalm 103: 1-5
Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name. Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
God forgives ALL our sins and heals ALL our diseases. I was talking to the Lord about “healing” this morning. There are so many things our human minds don’t understand. His thoughts are not our thoughts. We don’t see the whole picture, but just a tiny little piece.
He redeems our lives from the pit and CROWNS us with LOVE and COMPASSION. Ah, I need to stand on this scripture as well. Especially when I need the extra measure of love and compassion for others.
Wow, I am trusting God’s Word! His word declares that HE satisfies our desires WITH GOOD THINGS so that our youth is renewed like the eagles!
How many times do we turn to other things to satisfy our desires when God’s word says that HE will satisfy our desires WITH GOOD THINGS? I am going to meditate on these scriptures today.
On another note – I have been so busy lately. Thank you SO MUCH for reading my posts and commenting. I hate it when I don’t have time to return the favor and visit your blogs. Now that Princess is out of school, I don’t have as much down time to visit. I WILL come by to visit you soon.
God bless you all!
When I saw the title of this post, I immediately thought of "champagne and orange juice mimosas!" And I thought, "This early on Memorial Day? Well, ok!" LOL I've never heard of the "mimosa flower." We don't have those in KY. LOL
But as I read further, I was really encouraged by what you said about Him satisfying our desires. I needed that and I too will be meditating on that today. Thanks
I love those flowers!! I don't think I've ever seen one before!!
And I love your backyard. It's so relaxing! I can totally picture how peaceful and beautiful it is, and how nice it would be to have my personal devotion time there!
It has been crazy busy around here too my friend. I understand.
Oh so many times do I try and satisfy on my own. It is a hard lesson to learn. He is the only way to find true satisfaction
Hugs,
Mimi
A beautiful message. No need for me to say any more!
I understand a FULL days-life Beth completely…
Blessings in your continued time with the LORD!
Hugs and love!
Such a lovely message.
Beth these are beautiful! Love you sharing this with us! Hope you had a Happy and Blessed Memorial Day!
And God bless you too! I now want to find a mimosa flower just to see what it smells like. Your quiet time was inspiring. I haven't had the idea to go out on our patio in the morning like that but I want to now. Hope you have a wonderful week enjoying time with your daughter!
Happy Memorial Day! Love to read your blog. 🙂
Beautiful photos! I remember my bout of chicken pox vividly, it is such a yucky illness. Emma is being very brave though!
Love Collette xxx
If I ever saw a mimosa blossom, I did'nt know it!
Not to worry about the cd's. In time, your time, free time!
My life is in chaos anyway right now and I have no time to sit and listen…soon I hope things will quiet down here.
This made my heart skip a beat (in a good way!)
"He redeems our lives from the pit and CROWNS us with LOVE and COMPASSION."
thank you!
oh Beth I so need to escape to that quite place more often..it's been awhile and through your post I can tell I'm missing quite a meal!
Be blessed in HIM and continue the good work HE has started in you!
I am encourage by what you have shared!
A beautiful message and beautiful pictures, too!
We had a mimosa tree nearby when I was growing up. I used to press the fronds/leaves between my thumb and finger to make them close. Funny, the memories your pic brought back to me! 🙂
What a beautiful post. I am so grateful with all He's blessed me with, and I LOVE reading about His blessings on others too.
Oh, how often do I turn to other things/people to satisfy my needs (ahem. . .food!). It is such a good reminder that HE IS ALL WE NEED!!!!!!!! (Dear Heavenly Father, please let me remember this as I go about my day tomorrow. You are ALL I NEED!)
Great post, Beth.

Beautiful and powerful post!! Great pictures too!
Loved this post….and I loved the fact that you go out on your deck/porch for your quiet time….I have decided to begin doing that as well….have never really used my deck alot, but when mother was living here, she loved going on the deck so we did it every opportunity we had. So glad we did…
