Our precious little girl has BEGGED me to start decorating for Christmas.
Being a more traditional person, I usually wait until after Thanksgiving, but after all of the wonderful Hallmark Channel movies — I must confess I have wanted to get started with Christmas too!
While she was at school today, I thought I would get started. Yes – most of us adults prefer the white lights, but kids are all about the COLOR.
It is beginning to look a little like Christmas in my house. I haven’t added ribbons, poinsettias, or ornaments to my garland yet, but at least I have started.
Colored lights for our little one …
This is the first time I have used the nativity scene that belonged to my grandmother, then my parents. Each year I dreaded having to put this out to my Mom’s specifications. She new exactly where she wanted each figure!
This year I shed a few tears as I unwrapped each piece.
Time to bring out another touch of red and some poinsettias.
My mother-in-law started a Santa collection for me when we first married. I only collected for a couple of years and haven’t brought them out in a long time. I decided to bring them out in her honor this year.
This little surprise made me cry. I had forgotten that I kept my parent’s musical clock. What a sweet reminder of years gone by …
Yep, it is starting to look a little like Christmas — BEFORE Thanksgiving. This is so unlike me …
Beautiful photos and decorations Beth. How wonderful to have your mom’s nativity this year.
Your home looks lovely Beth! It’s great to have memories of your parents scattered throughout also. I have a few pieces that remind me of my grandparents and my mom.
Blessings and love,
Debbie
